creede historic museum

This museum is not the biggest but it is located in the old train station in Creede. Creede was a mining town until 1985 and the original bar is located in the museum as well as many of the mining memoribilia and things from the houses of the miners. There is an old horse drawn fire wagon that is very neat.

I have done quite a few videos for the Historical Museum since they have some quest speakers through out the year educating about Creede History, very interesting!!!!

While my wife attended the Silver Thread Guild Quilt Show, I decided to walk around Creede. I came across this museum and decided it looked like a good place to spend some time while waiting. The entrance fees are minimal ($1-$2). The museum is located in the restored train station and contains items from the early days of this community. It does a reasonable job of tracing the history of this small mining town. It has a very good collection of old photographs that depicted life in the Creede around the turn of the century. I found these photos fascinating. Most of the items are relatively common to a museum of this type but there are enough unique items that make it a worthwhile visit, especially considering the low entrance fees.
