I learnt Shoonya meditation at the center in August 2014. It was a wonderful experience to spend 5 days in a powerful consecrated space. The yoga center has a great ambience and opportunities for everyone to experience classical yoga. From powerful practices to beautiful hikes, the center has something for everyone. Its a space that is difficult to express in words. It is something one must experience once.
This place offers numerous possibilities and hence i consider it as a dream destination. It offers the "real deal" of yoga, saving you a trip to the Himalayas. The ambiance of the place is heart-warming, food is excellent, people are genuinely loving and caring, and it's not a costly affair at all. Every moment spent there is soul nourishing!
I visited the Isha Institute of Inner Sciences with my two sons, then 18 and 14. The 3 hour drive from Atlanta was absolutely stunning. The time that we spent in the Mahima meditation hall was transformational!!! It was a beautiful experience to feel the serenity and the calm of that huge meditation hall. We then went trekking to the many breathtaking waterfalls in this beautiful Cumberland Plateau!!! The natural flora and fauna and the gardens planted by the volunteers is simply beautiful!!! The wonderful and graceful people and the great food made the experience even more memorable. We each had a wonderful experience, something to write home about for a long long time. A visit to the III center is a must for anyone who wants experience something beyond themselves in a beautiful and graceful way.
I spent 5 days at the ashram and what emerged afterwards was magical, i dont know if it was the wonderful people, the beautiful Tennessee mountainous landscape, disconnecting from all the activity in my life and in my mind, whatever the reason for my blissful stay i cant quite put my finger on it, all i know is, i will be back for a visit very soon :)
We were first time guests, so in a word "newbies." Arriving late evening after a 10 hour drive we were welcomed pleasantly by staff and swiftly taken to our accomodations. From the moment we walked into our room we were at home. The next morning we asked for a daily schedule which included opportunities for practices, guided meditation and, of course, wonderful meals along with a map of bluffs and waterfalls. We could select our level of involvement and/or individualize our experience. Questions are readily answered and our needs taken care of upon request.Sloughing off our old schedules and responsibilities took some time but soon we became comfortable with this special spot, the volunteers and all this experience had to offer.Since we came during colder temps we brought extra blankets which were not necessary as the room had adequate heating.I would recommend bringing an electric kettle for tea just for your convenience.Water filters are provided. We had 3 of the most healthyand spiritual days of our lives.Thank you Sadhguru and volunteers for making this possibility available to all.
Isha Institute is the premier destination for meditation & yoga in the US. Incredible vistas overlooking TN mountain valleys, waterfalls, nature trails. A place designed to support the journey of looking within and finding ultimate wellness & peace.
I've been to the Isha Institute of Inner Sciences for many events, most recently for their World Peace Day celebrations. They have the largest meditation hall in the western hemisphere ! And we had some super cool concerts in the hall. The hall is truly an engineering marvel and just being in it is very, very unique. They have some easy to do trails that will flex your muscles and raise your appetite too. They have a nominal fee if you are staying overnight. They have a variety of accommodations and offer breakfast and dinner too. One of their trails really takes you up to a point and the view from there is just breathtaking! You can really see the Cumberlain plateau, the forest just takes over - a welcome change from the cities definitely!Beyond the center itself, they offer some truly life transforming yoga programs. The atmosphere, how the residents receive visitors and participants is something you won't see anywhere else. Truly a different group of people silently creating a revolution in empowering people to transform their lives, and the center really lives up to their intent.
I visited Isha USA for five days in late September for World Peace Day and was so happy I made the journey from Toronto. My favourite place was the beautiful Mahima meditation hall - a large, open space for people to meditate and do our yoga practices every morning. It was also a beautiful, energized space to sleep in at night. The grounds are beautifully arranged, the space is open and peaceful and conducive for people to do their various internal practices. And there is a lot of great activities and new projects going on right now. The grounds also offer amazing hiking trails to waterfalls and bluffs, and other walking and biking trails. This is a great place to visit if you need a place to re-charge and learn powerful, classical yoga and meditation techniques. It's definitely a MUST on any seeker's list of places to visit :)
I like Isha Institute of Inner-Sciences and its total environment. You have to call and book your lodges ahead of time as there are programs happening year around and you won't get accommodation for the dates you need. Total atmosphere is great. Nice people and very good veg food - I never tasted this kind. I tried hiking every time I visit here - this is one of the recharging and mingle with mother nature. Though I booked lodge, I prefer to sleep inside the mahima (if they allowed) and I felt like I got enough rest for next one month and woke up with lot of energy. I am visiting this place almost twice a year. Looking forward to go end of December. :-)
From the moment you set foot on the campus of this center, you can sense the vibrance of the place as well as enjoy the beauty of it. The Mahima hall feels charged as you sit quietly for your meditation or do your asanas. The whole space if very supportive of going inward. When you are not engaged in practices or a program, you can hike in the woods, sit by or soak in the waterfalls, and take in the bluff views - wherever you go it is quiet and peaceful. I would also recommend the vegetarian meals - a great variety of tasty dishes that are a unique blend of East and West.
The Isha Institute of Inner-Sciences is one of a kind. Just sitting inside the Mahima meditation hall transported me to a different world of peace and serenity, even when I had no clue about what meditation was. Spent 4 days attending a yoga program there which changed my life!Don't miss the food and the trek to the waterfall while your there. If you are a meat lover and have pre-conceived ideas about veggie food, you are in for a surprise.
This place is very peaceful, serene and beautiful. I feel refreshed and rejuvenated after visiting it. My energy levels go up. Hiking thru waterfalls and bluffs is just amazing. People here are so gentle and helping. I love meditating inside the Mahima dome. Food is very fresh, tasty and healthy. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
The III was a very peaceful experience for me. Now that the construction of Mahima is complete, the massive dome towers over you. This breathtaking dome mixed with beautiful scenery around you is exhilarating. Their meditation program is excellent, and Isha has made this place shine.I would recommend that you go here at least once to experience the power of Isha.
I visited this place twice so far and going there again in Oct. Beautiful scenery, largest meditation hall in northern hemisphere, consecrated space and loving people are main attractions of this place. Whether you are looking for a break from hectic work, looking to rejuvenate yourself with classical yoga, looking to take spiritual path or looking for summer camp for your kid, this is the place to visit. Absolutely amazing, eye opening, self realizing place.
I recently had the opportunity to visit III during a yoga course. I was just spell bound by the location. Meditating at the Mahima was one of a kind experience. They organized a trek to the water falls and a lookout and explained the history of the place. The lookout was phenomenal. You can just sit and gaze at the mountains for hours. The people are warm and welcoming. The vegetarian food served was healthy and scrumptious. Unless you went to the Isha Shoppe, you basically don't know who was the force behind this place is. That is a wonderful thing not to take the focus away from yoga and meditation. Yet, when you bid goodbye to the place, it feels like you are leaving a part of you behind and realize Sadhguru's subtle yet strong presence throughout the stay.
