old bust head brewery

Tried Old Bust Head back in October and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with how good the beers were. Everything from light to dark, IPA to stout, was delicious. They even sell growlers. Some of the beers change seasonally which is nice if you like trying different crafts. The place is big enough for kids, has live music and my understanding is a food truck is there every weekend. I really liked the interior space and the variety of beers was great. I'm a lover of craft/micro beers but not a fan of hoppy ones. This brewery was VERY hoppy. If you like IPA's or APA's this place is for you.

With the fast rise of the nano and micro-brews popping up everywhere, it's fun to stop in just for a sample and see what each one offers. Again, this is in an industrial park area with plenty of parking and and no food of their own but bring in food trucks. We did not eat this time, but I would have done so if I didn't eat shortly before coming in. This time it was Egyptian food, kabobs, etc. The inside of this establishment is probably one of the most well thought out and nicely presented brew-in-a-warehouse concept with several large family-style picnic tables and stand-up round small tables, a stage for live entertainment and a nice apparel and memorabilia area. The bar is beautiful and very long giving plenty of room for standers, conversationalists and people who just need to order a beer. My husband tried the Chestnut Porter and gives it a 3-star and the Virginia Harvest a 3.5. Not exceptional beers, but a fine watering hole.
