I had been wanting to go on this train ride for awhile. Then i won tickets from a raffle i had gone too. We called ahead of time to set up the day and time, ask a couple of our friends to go along and the trip was on. I loved going on the train ride. The train was awesome, the volunteers were very knowledgeable. I really liked looking around in the gift shop. Thanks for a Great time!!

Took my first ride on the railroad this past weekend. Rode the entire trip in the open car to see the fall leaves. Was beautiful. Not sure how much I would have enjoyed the ride in a different season though. The rail cars are restored nicely and the volunteers were helpful when we had questions. Very smooth transition of people getting on and off at the different stops.

A very good experience for both kids and adults alike. Your journey begins in a rustic train station with plenty of information on the area and the role of the railroad, a gift shop, and friendly, informative staff and volunteers. The train cars are old, but in real decent condition, providing an authentic, rustic train ride along the beautiful Oil Creek. There is an open car that provides a unique opportunity to experience the Oil Valley. Refreshments are available on board, and don't forget to purchase and mail a postcard from the only rolling post office in the USA! The ride is long enough to relax, enjoy, and learn about the valley, but not so long as to bore the children. A very unique and enjoyable experience, and well worth the admission price!

I had a great time on this train ride! It takes you through Oil Creek State Park, along Oil Creek, and away from noise and traffic! They have old train cars that have been restored, so it's a very authentic train trip. The station in Titusville has a lot of memorabilia, and the volunteers are very informative. They also have a nice gift shop, and a snack shop.

A great train ride through "the valley that changed the world". The views are wonderful...when the leaves are changing in fall it would be ideal. I was on one of the murder mystery theater rides. It was really fun and the actors did a great job. Plus it included dinner and dessert. There's also a large gift shop. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the view!

It's was 10 years ago last month that I first rode this train. Since then they have added a nice gift shop and also offer once a month murder mystery trains. The docent who rode in my car was a walking wikipedia. I picked the first class car this time to see if it was much different. Much less crowded, no little kids and cushioned seats plus a free bottle of water. I sent two postcards - last rolling post office in the U.S. - and bought some other train stuff. A relaxing 2.5 hour trip out and back through the valley that changed the world.

Just visited and took a 3 hour train ride learned about oil history in Western Pennsylvania. The train runs along the Oil Creek and makes stops at Drake Well, Petroleum Center and Rynd Farm then returns, be sure to Visit the RPO car (Rail Post Office) and get a snack and a ride in the open gondola car is great during good weather, but watch your head low tree branches. There's also a Cabbose Motel at Perry Street station where you can actually sleep in a caboose.

Stepping back in time allows one to relax and take in all the beauty the Oil Creek Valley has to offer. Enjoy the simplicity of the trip! If luxury, all-inclusive, and boundless amenities are your thing - then this delightful railroad trip will not be your cup of tea. However, if you are looking for a pleasant, slower-paced, wholesome outdoor excursion - this is for you! We were so pleased with the warm welcome from the staff & volunteers (and some above and beyond help & first-aid for a young boy's bee sting....just prior to boarding!) If traveling with young children, as we did - prepare them for the ride with a backpack full of snacks, and a homemade 'scavenger hunt' list. No need for devices - or else they'll miss : a deer crossing the stream, an eagle hunting for dinner, oil derricks on the hillside -- all of which we saw today!Enjoy it for what it is. A wonderfully staffed and well-maintained piece of Americana. We'll be back!

Two of us went on the W W II reenactment on the train. Loved the costumes, vehicles, etc that we got to see. Would tell all they should go.

We had an elderly tour lady who was actually rude. Long lines for the restroom at Rynd Farm. Couldn't even hear what they were saying on the overhead. We were told that there were no assigned seating but we got kicked off the car we boarded when we reentered the train from Rynd Farm. All & all the only person that was nice was the woman that gave us our tickets.Wish we would have skipped this ride.

This was an excellent attraction that takes you along the Oil Creek. The trees were beautiful at this time of the year and there were several bald eagles sitting in the trees along the creek. The history that was given along the way by both the staff and the pre-recorded tape was very entertaining and informative. The lunch that was provided for us was nice with sandwiches, chips, cookies and a drink and if you were not part of a prescheduled tour group, there was a food car where you could get hot dogs, sausage, chips ice cream and other goodies. The only draw back to this trip was the bathroom facilities, there were not enough at the station and the ones on the train went bad very quickly, hence the lower rating.

The overall train ride was very enjoyable and we enjoyed it very much, but the restrooms atRynd Farm reaked. The restrooms in the train cars need to be updated, no need to keepthem "historically correct". The lid and seat would not stay up, and they smelled bad! Also, with the number of passengers, more facilities are obviously needed!

The boys really liked this train ride! It was educational ~ we learned a little about the area we were traveling through. We saw some beautiful sites and wildlife. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable. We got on at the Drake Well Museum stop and took the train round trip. This trip would be absolutely beautiful in the Fall.

This train ride is kind of expensive but worth it! It was at least 2 hours long going there and back. Lots of history along the way... And we even saw a bald eagle! Then we wrote out a post card on the train. I also like the open car (standing only) on the back of the train. It was an awesome experience for any one of any age.

I can't ride this delightful train enough. And to think this was created and continues to run on donations and volunteers. Kudos to you all.
