This is a nice little children's museum for it's location. Know going in that it pales in comparison to anything the big cities have. But when the kids are young it is a fun place to go. The sand box in the basement was my children's favorite.

I am appalled at the condition of this house, the toys and the "displays" in this disaster area. Disgusting.

My grandchildren enjoyed their time at this museum. I knew that the climbing wall would be their favorite activity but they both enjoyed many other things as well such as the funhouse mirrors and the glow in the dark room. My granddaughter bought a beautiful ring that was among many of the "souvenirs" offered. This was very inexpensive and a marvelous find.

For $60, you get a private room for 2 hours and free admission for the entire day at this museum. The staff is extremely helpful. Each room has hands on learning experience for children of all ages. My 3 year old granddaughter loved the Sandbox basement. Spent 2 hours just down there digging in sand.

The youngest loved the big indoor sandbox while the others played on the climbing wall and all the pretend stuff they have. I must admit some of the puzzles/brain teasers they have stumped even me. It was very inexpensive.

This museum is in an old victorian home. It consists of 4 floors. There is no elevator by the way. The top floor was a hit with the kidda as there is a train room filled with toy trains and tracks to change around on tables, a vet room set up to pretend you are a vet and treat the stuffed animals and also a supermarket. We spent quite a lot of time in the supermarket room. On the next floor are a few different rooms like a dess up room and a dark room to write on the wall with lights an art room and two science type rooms. The science here is mor of the mechanical variety. We liked the science rooms alot too. The main floor houses a sitting room and a room that can be rented out for birthday partys a rest room and the admission office. Then you head to the basement where there is a huge sand box and a piece of a pirate ship to play in. The kids liked this area as well. All in all it was a decent Saturday afternoon. It is only open on weekends but the admission is very cheap at 3 dollars a person and kids under 2 free. There is no good parking however. The place is older and some of the exhibits were slightly broken so it didn't seem well maintained. It was somewhat dirty as well with dust all around and the floors looking as if they hadnt been swept in a long while, but it wasnt disgusting and the kids enjoyed it. I will be booking her 3 yr birthda party there as it is only 60 dollars for 3 hours and 20 kids (adults dont count) it includes use of the "party room" and admission for all party guests. There isn't much to do in Altoona, PA so this was something different for the kids.
