We enjoy going to Bookwalter for their happy hour specials and also for dinner. During happy hour we will typically order some wine and appetizers. (The bacon wrapped dates are great). Most of the time we don't need dinner because we fill up on the appetizers. The wine specials during happy hour are reasonably priced for the quality. The food is great and rivals any fine dining in the Tri-Cities.

Seems that they have redone their happy hour menu and it is much better than before. We've been here at least three times these past few months. Everything is good except for those strange pork belly tacos -- sorry but they were not that good. I thought they were something else and I should have sent them back, but our waitress was horrible. My friend ordered a coke and she just handed her a bottle!! Wow!! That's classy!! I had to get up and get a glass of ice for her from the bar. The service is usually bad but we keep going anyway and overtipping like dummies! We enjoy it even with its drawbacks of bad service.

We had a gal that was servicing our tasting session and she was more interested in talking with her male co-employee than helping us. Also the price of the wines were extremely high. We do wineries all over the Northwest and always buy at least one bottle but did not at this one.

We did a 25 winery tour of the area and stopped at Bookwalter on Day #1. It was our last stop of the day and we narrowly missed trying their wines at the tasting room by 5 minutes after it closed. While a bit disappointed they could not accommodate us, we decided to stay and eat dinner at their restaurant. We ordered flights of their wines and really enjoyed many of them. The food at the restaurant was wonderful as we ordered salmon, pork loin, shrimp/scallops and the burger. All were excellent along with very tasty salads. Very beautiful outdoor location for eating and relaxing after a day of wine tasting. Two doors down is Targis which is another similar dining/wine-tasting experience if you want a second option.

A wine tasting trip to the Tri-cities area warrants lunch at the Bookwalter outdoor dining area. It is the most relaxing of any, and the waitress (new and enthusiastic) was very helpful. Food was great, and since they weren't busy on the Monday we visited we were able to combine our tasting of 5 wines with lunch. It is a very nice memory.

We have been long time visitors to the Washington wine country, and recently the Prosser area has held our attention. Although nearly 30 minutes away from our RV park in Prosser, we always make it a point to visit Bookwalter's for a glass of wine and a meat/cheese plate. The ambiance is outstanding; you can sit near the tasting bar, by a fireplace, near the tapas bar, or at a variety of outdoor seating places.

When you go here it feels like a typical Tri-cities restaurant service is a little slow and the servers are not sure on their own wine... BUT that is were it stops being normal. The food menu is one of the top five in the Tri - IT HAS THE BEST STEAK IN THE TRIEverything they make is solid - even the bacon wrapped dates. The wine is good, I think they are one of the better ones in the area, and that is a compliment... Its in wine country. Go here you will have a good time!

Good chef and small but consistent menu. There's usually bands or other live music on weekends. Great patio dining in the summer. One of the better places to dine in the tri cities.

I have been visiting Bookwalter Winery for many years, and go there not only for the wine, but also the food and entertainment. It's a great place to meet friends and celebrate special occasions. Although some of the wines are quite pricy, there are still some reasonably priced choices to enjoy.

From listening to music on the patio during the summer, to sitting by the fire pit throughout the fall and winter, Bookwalter is hands down my favorite outdoor dining experience in the Tri-Ciites. Their food is outstanding, with the bacon wrap dates tasting to die for. Very friendly staff. Great experience overall.

Yes, Bookwalter boasts an exceptional cosmopolitan-ish venue in this high desert area. For the region, a $10 tasting fee seemed a bit high and was somewhat limited in the wines made available for tasting. Go for the food and the ambiance…the wine seems a bit pedestrian for the price.

We went for a wine tasting, not the food (as many seem to do). The fee for the reserve tasting was not money well spent. While the wine glasses were huge (they appeared to be Riedel XL), the tastings were tiny (significantly less that the 1 oz pours that are standard). Each pour was barely two very small sips. Even so, there was enough of a taste to conclude that wines did not live up to their hype or price.

Bookwalter's layout and facilities are the best. You can be indoors, outdoors, in front, in back. The wine is first rate as well. Oddly, we have been there several times, and the last time they were "out of white wine" which seemed really odd for an on-site winery! Menu is very nice, too.

We've been enjoying Bookwalter's for the past several years and have never been disappointed . Casual with a lovely ambiance and the wine and food are terrific.

Very pleasant atmosphere, wonderful food and wine. Great place to spend time with friends. Nice place to take out of town visitors. A little on the pricy side.
