After years of sand along the river, the last few years has seen the Bradenton riverfront area transformed into one of the most pleasant, non commercialized walks around. With a water area for children to a skate board park, a stage area, with places to eat at either end, this is the place for a relaxing walk or to attend one of the many special events held there.
Wonderful preservation of the waterfront, park, play areas, skate and activities..Lots of family fun to enjoy...
The Riverwalk was active with joggers, families walking with strollers, and couples walking hand in hand. So pleasant. The Riverwalk is convenient to hotels ( we stayed at the Marriott Courtyard) and dining (we ate at Pier 22). There is a wonderful playground and splash zones for kids. Be sure to find the giant cymbals erected along the walk and give them a "shout out". Several educational plaques. The marina is clean and it is fun to see some fantastic sailboats and yachts. Enjoyable for all age groups.
Well lit at night and felt very safe. Enjoyed walking along the river front. Places to sit down if you want along the way. Very clean.
Upon arriving in Bradenton we stopped at the information center which we found through the Internet was located in the convention center. Among the suggestions we were given for our 2 day stay was Riverwalk. We found meter parking behind the police department which was very close to the beginning of the walk. The whole walk is about one and a half miles with places to sit and interesting things to see. One was a sculpture made up of two discs. When you stood between them your voice came echoing back.
This is a nice area by the Manatee River. Includes some interesting artwork/devices and a skate park. Pleasant area for a walk. Restaurants nearby.
This recently redevelopped area along the river offers superb strolling, and along the way you will encounter varied and interesting landscaping, benches, conrete chaise-longes set under palm trees in a beach setting, innovative children's waterpark, children's playground with cute climbing frames, an amphitheatre, and skate park.Regular local events are held including concerts at the amphiteatre.Stroll and enjoy the ambience and views, log in to wi-fi there, or just watch the world go by.This is a gem!!
We took daily walks along this stretch of land along the Manatee River. It is beautifully designed with activities for all - interactive art, skateboarding park, dog walking, joggers. You can watch the fishermen, look for schools of minnows, observe the egret planning /getting lunch, spot a ray. Well designed, nice and wide, a manageable length. Good for all ages.
Something for everyone, Relaxing walk along the river. Kid friendly, well patrolled. Swings along the walk to enjoy, a park for the kids, a skateboard park.
My wife and I decided to take a stroll along the inland waterway in Bradenton. The city has done a lot of work beautifying the land near the water. They have installed cement leisure chairs along the pathway. Surprising enough the cement chairs are very comfortable. You can watch the boats with people fishing or just sit and see the clouds drift by. It's worth a relaxing stroll .
A very pleasant experience. It is not something I would do every day (maybe the walkers and joggers would). There is a kid's playground, a splash pool, skateboard/cycle park and plenty of seats along the way if you need to stop and rest. Good free fun for all the family. It took us around one hour to walk to the end and back.
Great way to destress, fun for the whole family. Walking by the river is very tranquil while watching the skateboarders is exciting. The signs also give a bit of history along the way.
We recently took a walk along the Bradenton riverwalk and got a nice workout. We were disappointed that there was not much going on down there. No vendors, shops, or restaurants like you would see along other riverwalks (like San Antonio). It was nice and clean and had several nice playgrounds but not much to hold our interest. There were some teenagers at the skate park and some interesting signs but not much else. We enjoyed the views and did stop at Pier 22 for dinner (which was excellent) but were disappointed in the lack of activities along the riverwalk itself. I would only go back if there was some event going on.
A jewel in the heart of Bradenton. Yes, Sarasota folk, Bradenton exists and you won't have to hide your valuables. A stroll down the river walk is just the ticket to relaxation on a breezy afternoon. We visited during the guide dog walkathon and stayed for another two hours. plenty of free parking. Skateboard park is just east of 41 and worth your time. Imagine! A place young people can go for free, exercise, converse and stay off their electronic devices. Just like old times!
The Riverwalk is an amenities-filled path that stretches for a mile along Bradenton's riverfront. Bench-type swings, sculptures, a playground, children's play fountain, an amphitheater, and skate park allow activities for everyone. This is a fun free addition to downtown Bradenton. Everyone loves it.
