Being able to fill a bag with my own choices of oranges and grapefruit was great. Samples were available. The smell of the orange blossoms was amazing! Very quick trip off I-75.

Wonderful fresh fruit you can pick your own or get it from bins. Great pick your own strawberries in season. $37 for a mixed bushel of citrus!!

Kids enjoyed picking fruit of the trees. The price for a 1/4 bundle was about $10, which was reasonable. Watch out for the fire ants!!

So my favorite thing in addition to the location (right off I-75) outside of Dade City, is the fact that the owner/operator greets you and quickly you realize he's the official mechanic, bookkeeper, local lore expert, and customer service guru all wrapped up in one. Truly a cool place. It's not fancy, just a small retail shop in the front portion of a working warehouse where the family packs, ships and sells oranges but it's the not fancy part that makes you feel right at home when the proprieter encourages you to try a murcot orange for the first time. PS....murcots are wonderfully sweet-they are tiny but pack a powerful punch.

We stopped last week, We bought oranges, tangerines and grapefruit. If you want grocery store ,uniform shaped and perfect sized fruit this is not the place to stop. The store is an open warehouse with large bins of fruit. The staff was very helpful. You can fill a bag of assorted fruit. There are some touristy items, but I viewed it as a family owned orchard trying to make a few bucks more on tourists. We passed on those items.Fruit is the main item for sale. Credit cards but a small processing fee. We paid in cash. The smallest bag was 10 dollars. The fruit is really sweet and juicy. I didn't ask but the citrus is probably older varieties since they are thin skinned, not too easy to peel and have seeds. I wish we had gotten more grapefruit, ours is mild, doesn't bite you back like some fruit, very juicy. .

Stopped to get a break from driving. Employee was delightful to visit with and their products were few but varied. Citrus was not quite ripe and ready so I can't comment on that.

Small pick your own oranges stop. Fruit not so visually appealing and a bit tart when we were there. Still, worth a stop.

I have been buying oranges and grapefruit each year to take back North with me each time I go back to Jersey. The first few years I bought fruit from a variety of places. Never again. I will buy only from Hancocks. The family that runs the place is remarkably helpful. Just when you thought you couldn't get any more into the bag, they seem to get another half dozen in. Quality is outstanding, prices are more than fair. It's only a few minutes off of 75. Well worth it. They don't disappoint. Don't think that those citrus centers at each roadside exit are comparable. Hancocks is the best that I've found and well worth the stop!

i still have the bag waiting to fill it up again on another trip down, which will be this year! I still remember the citrus being super sweet, and like the other reviewer, when the guy there thought my bag was not full enough, added some more to get it up to snuff. I remember these kindnesses, and will be back!!!

This is a Citrus grove with a store that has a bunch of citrus stuff in it. It is a great price on all citrus.

If you want to buy some oranges, it's just ok....but the entrance is loaded with junkie tourist stuff and the place is just a big, uninviting, dirty warehouse. Best think about it is the billboard on I-75 and the smell of orange blossoms in season

We were traveling home, north on I-75 with no particular schedule in mind, so why not stop and check out Hancock Groves this time? We have seen their billboards (yes; old-school advertising works!! :-) on other trips but we had always had a place to be at a certain time. Signs will lead you to the storefront in the grove. While not a fancy place, there were fresh samples of seasonal citrus and an assortment of Florida souvenirs; what else do you want from a grove? They had the best selection of Florida photo frames that I’ve seen, and I had seriously shopped for frames for Christmas gifts last year. We left with a quarter bushel bag that we could pack ourselves. Evidently we didn’t fill it full enough; a few more were added at the register!
