The walk down to the upper falls is easy. the lower falls is quite a few more steps. A bit slippery in places as has rained recently. Both falls are lovely after rain. the lower falls are almost in a rain forest type of area. Lovely. You can pay for the parking by credit card or coins ($7). Worth it.Great spot of nice photos.
the scenery if gorgeous and it is just so close to Gosford. If you catch a day when there are not too many other visitors the tranquility of the bush, the falls and the spectacular scenery is just so relaxing it is wonderful.
went to photo the falls after rain easy drive in to falls from somersby plenty of parking near the falls but is pay parking so look at your clock easy walk to to some levels then for the eager ones they can go to the bottom of the walking track will not take to long it is better to go after some rain for better photos
It's a beautiful place if you Google. Small carpark area with toilets but gotta pay $7 at kiosk pay machine as its part of the National Park. It's a five/ten minutes hike down to the waterfalls. You can go swimming there also picnic. It's so amazing what you would find in the water teaming with life like tadpoles & tiny fishes. If I hadn't checked out what places to go visit besides the Australian Reptile Park then we would've drove past & gone home
a great place to meet with friends for a picnic/BBQ good, clean facilities. And great short walks, lovely scenery
Beautiful scenery and falls. Difficult climb down to falls if you have small children. Definitely wear your hiking shoes and bring water
Hidden away behind the Somersby light industrial area, but when you get there you could be a million miles from anywhere. Take your walking shoes for the walk to the bottom of the falls as it can bet a bit slippery. There were families cooling off in the falls as different levels and others just picnicking. Great spot.
Just love Somersby Falls. Have taken my kids there many times, they are adults now and moved away from the Central Coast. We used to bush walk as far as their legs would take them. Can be a bit slippery and the path dodgy so you need to take it easy to the falls. But totally worth the walk. It has been some years since a visit so just might go there again soon.
This has been a favourite spot for Central Coast residents and visitors for many years. It's a cooling, refreshing natural environment and the falls are especially attractive after rain. As other reviewers warn, the steps down to the lower falls are damp, slippery, and uneven. Also, keep a watch on children and dogs playing and chasing near the top of the drop. One day a dog of mine was allowed to run free by a friend who'd taken her there; she fell onto rocks, was injured and had to have orthopaedic surgery.
Lovely spot, good parking (don't forget to pay at parking machine) with excellent BBQ facilities and toilets. The falls are beautiful after a bit of rain, awesome after a big downpour and can be viewed from carpark. The steps to lower falls and bushwalking trails are initially quite steep, but I (fit 70 years old) and my grand-kids manage them OK. Lots of variety of vegetation, walk for half an hour or 8 hours, turn back when you're ready.
This area had some rain a few days ago so the falls were running well. It would pay to note that it's approximately 500 metres back to the car park and the walk is a little steep, but worth the effort.
Good car park, amazing nature, beautiful bushwalking track and finally a couple of awesome waterfalls. good picnic area.
This is such a beautiful space for a walk and/or picnic. The falls are a short walk from the car park and are lovely. Definitely worth a visit.
Our 3 year old and 6 year old wanted to go on a bushwalk and the walk to the Somersby Falls fit the bill. Not too long a walk with a very satisfying attraction at the end of it (who doesn't love a waterfall!). The kids really enjoyed exploring at the bottom of the falls. We would really recommend this walk.
A great place for a family picnic whilst enjoying the peaceful surroundings. A walk to the bottom of Somersby Falls is a must for spectacular view of the falls, particularly after heavy rainfall. Great vantage points for photo enthuthiasts. Somersby Falls is about 20 minutes drive off the M1 at the Kariong exit.
