I went with my son. We had a great time, the lady who did the tour took her time with us. They do school trips too. It was nice too but I got alot out of it this time.We are going again.

I love Spelunking! This was the first time I have done anything like this and now I am hooked. It is a must see if you are in the area

this cavern is 3rd generation. it is very non-commercial, not many souvenirs to buy. THE CAVE HAS MORE FORMATIONS PER SQUARE INCH than any other. It is sooo beautiful!!! It can be a bit of a challenge to navigate, but I managed fine with my German Shepherd service dog, and my friend used her cane. the tour lady gave us time for pictures, and was fun to listen to, as she suggested images the formations looked like. Right now the price is $20 and worth it. In summer there is a lovely little creek for picnics.

We visited the caverns at the end of Jan. and it's truly an interesting tour. The temp. is always in the mid 50's in the caverns, so a Jan. day trip was perfect. No credit cards are accepted and $20 for an adult ticket seemed a little pricey. Once you go on the tour (approx. 35 mins) I felt ok with paying the ticket cost but I could see how it might be difficult for a larger family to afford. Overall I would recommend the caverns. The tour guide was very knowledgeable.

I visited the cavern with my boyfriend on Halloween. The owner was very nice and made us feel really comfortable. The tour guide had so much knowledge and excitement I couldn't help but get excited and learn. I will be back!!!!!!!

I was hesitant when I saw the price-tag for the adult tickets, but I am glad we paid to go on this tour. It was well worth our time and money. Guide was very informative and friendly. The formations were out of this world.

Mind-blowing caverns, stalactites, & stalagmites! Bring a light sweater for the constant 54*F underground temperature.

This was a lot of fun if you've never been in caves before. Bring a sweater because it is chilly! They allow cameras. Not a good place for those who have physical handicaps or are clostrophobic.

We had an excellent guide who made the experience fun and interesting. The cave itself is quite interesting.

Truly interesting cave formations, but very small. $20 per person seemed overpriced to us. Less than professionally delivered tour, but friendly and accommodating. Luray caverns is a much better choice.

My mom is afraid of elevators, caves, and enclosed spaces. This is not a large cave but the root is flat (at ground level). An ancient stream tunneled through a hill. That makes it easier for handicapped or claustrophobic people. I had one problem. The owner only accepts cash. I couldn't find an ATM nearby. Our tour of this cave was delayed until our next vacation.

A group of 10 people went to the caverns on June 14. We did not book in advance so we did not get the group rate, which was half the usual rate, but the owner did take $10 off the total. The caverns only accept cash, so be prepared! The tour was okay. There were two tour guides on our tour- one did the first half and one did the second half. The woman who did the first half knew a lot about the history of the caverns, but not much about the actual geology of the cave or how the structures formed. She also anthropomorphized a lot of the structures, which was kind of annoying. The second part of the tour was done by a young man that was only working there for three weeks, but he seemed to have a genuine interest in the geology of the cave and knew more about how the formations actually formed. Both tour guides were friendly and answered questions to the best of their ability. The tour was a bit short, but I did not feel rushed through the caverns. The tour guide gave us all time to take some group pictures at the end in the largest "room". I think $20 was a bit steep for the tour, but we all had a great time.

We were hesitant to pay the 20 bucks but it is well worth it. The cave was awesome and our young tour guide was great. Blaine told us stuff I never would have asked about and it was all incredibly interesting. The cave was packed with incredible formations and each one cooler looking than the last. The wife and kids loved it, and we were so glad we took the time to check it out on our drive back home from DC.

Some truly amazing cave sights, even for those who have seen bigger caves. Crystal Grottoes is a fairly small but scenic cavern. The guide I had said it was his second day, and his unfamiliarity with everything geologic was painfully obvious. Pathetic, actually. It truly annoyed me to hear the anthropomorphic description of the natural formations -- "this is an eagle, this is a sitting man, this is a bunny rabbit, this is a bacon formation, and this is the drinking straw formation." Enough already! Spare the vapid comments and let the guests see what they want to see in the natural wonders. I felt somewhat rushed on the tour but did very much enjoy the views of such a natural wonder.

I went to Crystal Grottoes on a field trip with my 8 year old daughter. I have been to a couple different caves and this one was by far the most spectacular. There were endless formations. The tour guide, a woman, was knowledgeable and had quite an imagination when it came to describing the formations, most of which I could not stretch my mind to see. My only problem with CG was outside the cave. My wife chose not to go into the cave but instead wait in the car. Right before we were going to enter, she wanted to go into the visitor center to use the restroom. There was a man at the door who worked there who practically followed her into the bathroom to be sure that she did not steal anything that was not nailed down. He was very rude and demeaning and for no other reason than his actions, we would probably not go back.
