This was a fantastic find! Beautiful flowers and even some cacti! The buildings were all closed but we walked around the grounds. Brought my dog with me and it was fine. Just had to clean up after him.

We got our lunch to go and stopped here to break up our road trip. The park is pet friendly making it an ideal lunch spot with the pup. I did not see a lot of the trails, though my friend said there were a lot of labels for the trees along the paths. Not much to see in the main entry area. There was no visitors building here that we could find. There were no restrooms, so we had to leave fairly early but were able to find some restrooms at one of the playgrounds nearby.

The camellias where in bloom and the Dark Shadows magnolia trees. Still a lot of greenery, but that was about if for flowering plants. Never the less it was still beautiful and the grounds cover a lot of area. It only took me about 30 minutes to walk around the gardens but there are trails there if you'd like to stay longer. Admission was 5$

Little is going on during the winter but the camelias were in full bloom and beautiful. The walks are grassed, not paved, so are comfortable. There is abundant shade for summer. The person in the office was vety kind and helpful. Its dog friendly.

I have read a number of the reviews posted on M.B.G. and they are on point for the most part.... I live nearby and have a slightly educated appreciation for what is there. It is a civic endeavor on behalf of Mobiles citizens and visitors. It is not a highly advertised location, yet it is utilized well by local residents. For years the Gardens meeting hall ( somewhat hidden off the main road by the dam) had been used by local organizations such as the Mobile Rock and Gem Society for their monthly club meetings. There are a number of art attractions , sculptures, etc on the grounds. It may not make for a superbly memorable vacation destination, but it is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area..especially in the spring.

I'm sure the gardens are glorious with color in the Spring so our timing (October)was less than ideal. Still, it provided a lovely walk in a beautiful area. A real plus is that the gardens are located amid Langan Park and Longleaf Forest making it easy to combine a visit to the gardens with a visit to the beautiful and extensive Mobile Museum of Art. In the area, there are scenic walking/biking trails, outdoor scultures and picnic areas to be enjoyed..

Late September wedding, rain stayed away. The employees had prepared for an outdoor ceremony with an indoor location as a backup if the rain fell. No A/C in reception area that I could notice but it wasn't bad.

The parking area is a decent trek away from the main office, which is reasonable... If there were signs directing you to where the office was. When I finally located the place, the lady who gave me my ticket was very nice (And quite honestly the only reason that I didn't give this review a 1/5). The map she gave me, however, was extremely vague. The trails go off in several other directions that aren't posted on the map, and I found myself lost a number of times. There are no signs posted on where to go (except for tiny little red ones that actually lead you to a dead end... or at least to a place that is no where on the map). The Tea Garden Maze was disappointing. All it looked like was a few shrubs clustered together. I would definitely recommend people to go to Bellingrath Gardens instead of this place.

Azaleas in Sept...a nice surprise. And a few other flowers like ginger. They are reciprocal so it was free to us. But only $5 ...a great value. It has a new owner and very well kept.

We visited the Botanical Gardens in August and were very disappointed. Most of the areas did not look to be taken very good care of and were run-down. The rose garden barely had any roses at all. The area in front of the office was beautiful, but that was the only area that was. Several of the paths were overgrown and there were no signs directing you where to go. A lot of the paths were either grass trails or dirt paths. Not an easy trek if pushing a stroller. Very few plants were blooming and there were hardly any flowers.

In this botanical garden has free admission and had a nice variety of azaleas, ferns, trees, and even an herb garden. A very pleasant oasis in the city and convenient to the Springhill neighborhood. Nice walking paths and well maintained

I go every time we are near Mobile. It is always changing and always a beautiful place for a walk. One of my favorite gardens in the U.S.A

What a beautiful place to visit. The holiday decorations are amazing during Halloween and Christmas. During others times of year different blooms are always happening. The cascading mums are my favorite!

I love the outdoors in May. This was my kind of place, it gave me some great ideas for my yard. I went early it was so peaceful and even seen a baby armadillo off one of the trails.

We arrived shortly before dusk. There were a few cars in the parking lot but no one in sight. We put our $10 in the donation bin and started exploring. I thought I had seen it all and by the time it got dark I realized I had only seen about 10%. I would have stayed til the last bit of light but I crossed paths with an opossum and that did it for me. As we were leaving we met a volunteer who was very passionate about their work. I wish I had more time to explore.
