A great "day trip" for anyone interested in art. In good weather a good place for the whole family as most of the art is outside and you can bring a picnic. A Free Pass is a valuable at the Cornwall Library for those who belong. Certainly worth the price of admission.

Storm King is a collection of large-scale modern (post-1960) sculpture set against rolling hills and fields in the Hudson River Valley north of New York City. The expansive setting gives the pieces plenty of room to breathe and for the visitor to experience art outside the confines of a museum environment. You'll see all the big names of modern art on display here, some in fields, some set into the trees, some visible from a great distance, others that you'll stumble upon unexpectedly. It's an outdoor experience, so go when the weather's pleasant, and be prepared to take some time to see everything. There's a cafe that's nothing special but you'll want to take advantage if your energy flags.

Less than an hour from Manhattan, this incredible outdoor sculpture garden is not to be missed. Magnificent pieces by world-famous artists in a beautiful setting of green rolling hills. You can spend a whole day just strolling the grounds.

I live very close to the Storm King Art center and I never get sick of this place. I highly recommend the family pass if you plan on going more than once in a year (and this can always be decided at the end of your day trip. They will deduct your admission from you family pass fee). It will pay for itself in 2 visits. This art center is an outdoor sculpture park set on over 100 acres. The setting itself is spectacular. I have been a ton and every time I go I love it. My kids ages 5 to 11 love it too. You can walk or even jog the paths to view the sculptures. They also offer bike rentals. You can spend the day here. Bring a picnic and a good book. It is amazing just to relax as you enjoy the scenery. Included in your admission is trolley ride that gives you an audio tour of the art center. There is also a terrific cafe that offers health delicious sandwiches, salads & soups. They also sells fruit pops for a refreshing dessert. They also have many events including yoga, concerts and various art classes. So when people ask me is it worth the trip from Manhattan I always tell them absolutely!!! Ps. This is perfect for families, friends and I think perfect for a romantic date.

Had never heard of this place before staying at a nearby B&B. Definitely worth the visit, although you need a lot of time to explore the grounds. Some of the tips from other reviews about getting around are good.Nature is as much an attraction as the sculptures here, just a beautiful setting. The only negative was getting into the center; the entrance is via a tiny road, and the backup of cars and buses to get through the admission gate was annoying.

Storm King is expertly landscaped. The sculptures are interesting and big. The park is huge I suggest talking the shuttle bus they have around the park and then going back to what interests you the most.If you have a hard time walking you can park at several places around explore from there. It worth going to even if it is out of the way. It was one of the highlights of my week trip to the Hudson Valley.

As Michelin says for its three star attractions, it was worth a journey. Storm King doesn’t appear to be close to much so it will be a journey to get there even if you are staying in the Hudson Valley. But, it’s worth it. I can’t think of any other facility where you can view so many large scale sculptures in the outdoors. The site covers 500 acres and includes more than 100 sculptures – some of them were built for their location at Storm King. I’d recommend taking the informative tram tour soon after arrival so you can get a feeling for the site. Then spend the rest of your time walking (or bicycling) around to view the sculptures that particularly appeal to you. You’ll have an amazing day at this unique site!

An amazing collection of sculptures. It can get tiring walking all over the huge spread, so schedule a whole day and pace yourself.

I went back to Storm King after having visited it in 1985 - and it was every bit as spectacular as I remembered it to be. If it is convenient, bring a bike - and cut about an hour out of the time it will take to see it all. There are massive sculptures which can only be appreciated from a uncluttered distance of half a mile - and Storm King uniquely provides that distance. No surprise - it is a little lengthy a trip and not near any major highway.

I came here by myself and was excited to see such beautiful landscapes. The foliage was gorgeous. The art work was amazing. I spend all day walking the grounds. The grounds are like four miles all around, so get ready to walk alot. There is a Tram that gives you a 45 minute tour around the grounds. The Tram runs every hour starting at 12:00. If you really want to get a great experience, I recommend you walk a little. Theres alot of scultures and if your on the Tram you may miss some of it. I recommend you bring your own lunch, drinks, etc. They do have a small cafe. They serve coffe, soup, hotdogs, and a sandwich. Trust me bring your own picnic. The grounds are lovely and there are picnic tables. I definitely will be back. I am sure I missed a couple of art works. I love connecting to nature and if you do as well, you will definitely appreciate this experience. Bring some comfy shoes...

Beautiful drive to Storm King art center from NYC. We rented bikes for two hours and it was just about the right amount of time. I think we could have used another 30 minutes on the bikes. Then we walked around the main building. It has beautiful grounds and nice sculptures. Would recommend!

It is hard to beat a 500 acre outdoor sculpture garden. This one has works by many well known artists. The vast space gives one an opportunity to really see large sculptures well displayed. Take the tram first for an overview. You can either hop off and on or go for a walk at the conclusion. The setting is a spectacular as the sculptures. Occasional weekend events include kite flying, poetry reading, special tours, music. Bikes can be rented on the premises and there is a cafe available. No pets permitted.

A unique visitors experience. A great way to enjoy art and the outdoors simultaneously. The site is beautiful.
