Well maintain with access points and parking all along the trail. For a short walk take the trail from Downtown Hot Springs to the City Library. Only drawback is BE ALERT for some bikers who believe they own the trail.

How nice to have a safe, quiet, paved trail to take a long walk, jog, or bike ride. Very pretty, feels quite safe, and gives you a place to walk away from traffic. It is snow covered in spots and icy in spots right now, so be a little careful. Yes, watch out for bikers. It is miles long and we are so happy we have easy access to it from out hotel!

We biked this trail. There were walkers on the trail as well. It follows the creek between the mountain and the town and includes a botanical garden along the way. There were a lot of young people tubing on the water so plenty of entertainment along the way.

The open acceess trail follows the River Yampa and is a great way to travel across town without following the main road. Little people can bike and run along it easily and there is often something 'different' to see. We always take our grandchildren there when we're visiting.

thank you Steamboat for creating access along the river that makes going from the mountain to town a pedestrian, biking, paddeling, fishing, nature viewing opportunity. Get out and use this trail.

Anytime you get a chance when in Steamboat - get on this trail! Everytime we go it we see something new - especially as the seasons change -

If weather permits, rent a bike and do the entire trial. Otherwise, there are several stopping points you can drive to. Dont drink the springs water. Unsanitary.

A great trail to get around town on foot or bike. This trail is widely used year round but busier in summer months. Take the dogs for a stroll by the river or shoot downtown for a happy hour. If you are looking for a very direct route downtown from the mountain area, stick to the sidewalk on 40. While this trail is gorgeous and fun to take, it does tend to wind around a bit so a direct route is difficult.

This is a great bike trail along the Yampa River. Most of the trail is very scenic. Not a lot of ups and downs, just a pretty even trail, which is great at an elevation of 6,900 ft. Very wide paved trail is great for families and taking your dogs for a walk. Steamboat does have tons of bike trails, so if you are experienced and looking for a challenge, you will have plenty to pick from and will not be disappointed. Very easy access to the trail. There are plenty of parking lots to start at. Another great thing to do in Steamboat!

A beautiful paved trail walk of up to 4 miles along the Yampa River past downtown Steamboat Springs. Mostly level, really charming

Lovely trail along the river! You can rent a bicycle at The Orange Peel and ride the trail. Or walk.

The trail is 7 miles long. It follows the Yampa River and has several places you can stop along the way and easy access to town (just of couple of blocks to downtown from a couple of points). There are several parks (some with restrooms) and places to park along the trail, as well as access to the Botanic Garden, the Ice Arena, and the library. It's scenic and mostly flat. You feel like you're away from things without feeling totally isolated. I (a female) ran alone early in the morning and felt perfectly comfortable doing so.

We walked from Botanic Gardens into town and back along this path. At times you have to be on the lookout for bikes, the the peaceful sound of the running water and scenery on the walk make it well worth doing. You can make it as long or short as you like.

The Core Trail is an ideal walking trail that runs along a long stretch of the Yampa river. We walked almost the entire length of the trail on a cool and clear September day. If you love to walk, this is a very nice path from the edge of town to the South. The caretakers of the garden are dedicated and passionate and admission is free.

Very high quality path down the riverside, passing most of the local sulphur springs. Low intensity walking or a pleasant cycle. Not exactly a "hike", but a pleasant post-meal wander.
