The gold course is not your everyday walk in the park. It will challenge all your shot making skills. This course is at a higher elevation than it's twin 18, silver course. There are lots of elevation changes and too many side hill and down hill green approaches in deep rough. The pace of play is not the best. It is a popular layout and there are many unskilled players trying to hit from the tips. They did not have a Marshall on the course so the pace of play really suffered. There are plenty of long carries over nasty wild ravines. Players here should have to provide a valid USGA handicap under 20 prior to teeing it up. The course is in great shape with smooth tricky greens and deep rough just off the fairways. Our first pro shop guy was John, but he was less than cordial and very full of himself. The second fellow we met was a 180 degree change. He was very friendly and accommodating.Joel was a gem in the pro shop and should be recognized for his efforts. They have some great value rates for senior golfers. Overall this is one of the top coursesin the area.

As the other reviews suggest, the 2 courses at Soldier Hollow are scenic and fun. Also, they are not super crowded, at least on the day we played. My 24 yer old on and I played as a two-some around 4 one afternoon. We had to wait once or twice to hit during our 18 holes. Overall a great round on a well maintained, uncrowded, scenic course. We will be going back the next time we visit Park City, it's worth the drive.

Nice golf course and excellent views on the Canyon Course. Cost was very reasonable (under $50). The course was in very good condition and provided plenty of challenges for the average golfer. Views were very good on the front nine in particular..

We play at Soldier Hollow once or twice a week. The Silver course is at the lower elevation but there are challenging changes on each hole. The Gold Course is especially challenging, going up and down the mountainside. Even low handicap golfer and pros will be challenged by the Gold tees, where many tournaments have been contested. Views of Mt. Timpanogos and the Deer Creek Reservoir can be spectacular.

One of the best rounds I have shot for years. The course is in great shape and the staff very friendly. Chris the pro makes you feel at home.

Great views, 2 great courses that are fun, but challenging. I try and play here at least 5-6 times a year.

First impression was not very good. Clubhouse and parking lot looked shabby. Had gas engine carts which I hate. Played the Gold course and found it to be lacking in design and care. The greens were in terrible shape. Rough surfaces and unrepaired pitchmarks. Design was nondescript. There were a few interesting holes but for the most part it was blah. The views of the valley were lovely. It didn't cost much and wasn't worth much.

We played the gold because we were told it was the tougher of the two. Neither of us thought it was that tough. It is well maintained, the service was great and we had a good time but I think we will play Wasatch Mtn next time instead.

This is a challenging course. It has sand and water and if you don't know where the water crosses the fairway you could be in it. Although not as high up as the other 18 holes the altitude it still high as is the whole area. The restaurant has good food. Hand cut french fries!

We played on a Monday afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Never pushed or delayed, the flow and pace of the course was pleasant.Allow time before or after your round to enjoy the grill. Based on prior reviews, we each ordered the pastrami burger. Quite good. Nice selection and friendly staff.Several points to ponder... First, we played in July and it was hot baby. The pro shop and grill do not have coolers on hand. Though it is possible to get cold drinks packed in a plastic bag of ice, it melts rapidly. I suggest you bring along a small cooler to keep drinks cold. Second, water is scarce on the course. To the best of my knowledge, only a single water fountain is available on the entire 18 holes of the silver course. On a hot day it will be impossible to stay hydrated if you do not take liquids with you - either from the grill or your own water bottle. Keep in mind, there is really no way to refill your water on the course, so plan accordingly. For example, at the turn I purchased four waters and two Poweraids for the three of us. Third, we rented clubs. My Dad had a great set, I had an average set, and our lefty had a poor, incomplete set.Go, play, enjoy. This is a fun course with scenic views of the Wasatch mountains and Heber Valley. The staff and other golfers are very pleasant. A great outing!

There is not much to dislike about the (two) Soldier Hollow golf courses, except the degree of difficulty! Beautiful facility, stunning views, the course is always in terrific shape. Is it the 'silver' or the 'gold' course that is more challenging? Either way, they're tough, but fun.

Tough course for a first time golfer, but worth the effort. Views of Heber Valley are amazing. Price for 18 with a cart can't be beat. Not too far from Pk City and well worth the drive.

Soldier Hollow- Great course- Long from the gold- 7200 yds but well worth it. Greens were fast with subtle breaks. You have to stay in the fairways.

I have played this course a couple times and enjoy how challenging it is. The scenery is beautiful as well.

Played Soldier Hollow in July in the USGA Public Links golf championship. Course was in magnificent shape. Greens were so fast that they almost lost them. Area hadn't had rain in over w months but rained during our practice rounds. Fescue was therefore very short. Longest course in USGA history. Ball flies a lot further in Utah. Bunkers placed at 290 yds off the tee were not even in play as drives were flying well past that. It was a tough course to walk in the high altitude but I am sure during regular play you must take a cart. Great scenery. Bring your camera.
