I had lived in the area for 2 years before I realized this park existed. It's pretty well hidden and not everyone knows about it. It has a dog park, hiking trails and a disc golf course. All three are pretty good. Because the park isn't too big, the hiking trails aren't too long but you can do a decent loop if you string together some trails. I played disc golf here once and the course is in decent shape but because there are so many disc golf options in the area, we usually don't pick this course because it's not better than others.

Two decent fenced areas for large and for small dogs. Fountain for getting water for dogs, but it is on other side of the fence so a bit inconvenient.Mulch makes for a messy pup and since park is mostly shaded tends to stay a bit damp.

The park itself has multiple items of interest. First, is the only still suviving DuPont School built for Black American Children. It has old desks, a old stove, etc. Iron Hill itself is one of the highest locations in Delaware, and was used during war with England to keep track of what bay the English ships were coming into (Delaware Bay or Chesapeak Bay). It also was used to get Iron Ore. Lots of history in the Park.

They have many nice areas, including frisbee golf, a large and small dog park and up-to-date playground equipment.

This is a pleasant outdoors area to be in nature. There are a few picnic areas and childrens play areas and places to throw frisbees.

It is a nice park with a great dog park. Although it is about 3 miles nw of Glasgow Park it isn't flat like Glasgow Park (it is hilly) and it isn't loaded with loblolly pine. Unlike Glasgow Park where dogs need to be leashed, at Iron Hill Dog Park your four legged family members can run free. The fall colors are more dramatic than at Glasgow Park.

I was therein early spring and enjoyed the lonlyness of the place and checking out Springs just beginning to ooze and the little greenish sprout poking up.

They really did a lot 2 improve this park. Day & nite over a few years ago. Great trails thru the woods (overlooking cliff & stream). Great place 2 socialize dogs, they have an area with 2 cornered off enclosures made of chainlinked fence, 1 is 4 small dogs, the other 4 big ones. They provide water there too. A very nice park. And also it's FREE 2 enjoy 4 all!

This is my favorite park to take my kids ( age range 18mos-9yrs) It is nice and shady with a good variety of equipment. There is also a nice wide open field, a fenced in area for dogs, and a picnic area. It would be nice if the picnic area and the portapotties were closer to the play area but that is not that big of a deal. Also sometimes people do not keep their dogs in the dog area but that isn't the fault of the park obviously. one last con traffic getting out of the park if you are turning left can be a pain because there is no light and the road is fairly busy.

My husband has played disc golf courses all around the country and ranked this one as one of his top two! We went as a family one morning on vacation, and loved the beautiful woods, the trails, and the course. The course trails weren't very stroller friendly, however, so the baby and I enjoyed the playground for awhile. It's a great park with a large playground that has a lot to offer, and there's even a dog park there too! Great for the whole family!

Just 15 minutes outside of Newark. A little hike you can do, but nothing really interesting to see. Not a "must se"...

Nice fenced in dog park. Lots of large dogs always, small dog side is usually pretty empty.

This is a little park in Delaware less than a mile from where I grew up. I am not sure how large the park itself is, I know the Appalachian trail goes through it, but I know they have a little nature center with arrowheads and so forth. I love this little park and I am so happy it is still there.
