Perfect location and easy to access in downtown grand rapids, perfect since it was right in the middle of downtown and close to the highway so I avoided having to be stuck in traffic.

It is accessable, it offers many seating options, and offers many varied shows and fun things to do. So glad we have it here.

Very exciting very loud too much bass but Nickelback put on a great show and pretty reckless was pretty surprising really enjoyed them too.Would like to have heard better mix of the instruments because the base over powered The musical quality and singing of exceptional artists.Lead singer had a fun time! And the guests were entertained the whole show . Nice job. Would see them again and my sons would have loved the show too!

I enjoy watching the Grand Rapids Griffins from this great venue. The hockey is high caliber AHL hockey with a team that is the farm team for the Detroit Red Wings. I enjoy watching players grow and graduate to the Red Wing organization. Red Wing players are assigned short rehabilitation stints on the team also. If you enjoy hockey, you'll enjoy watching the Griffins.

It was too crowded in the hallways and with a child it can be worrisome. Always love going to the game!

I was there for a Milwaukee Admirals VS G.R. Griffinshockey game. The game was great as we won 4 - 0.The arena is definitely different compared to most arenas.Just Imagine a giant horseshoe with a wall at the ends. There is no way to get around without coming back fromwhere you came and keep going to the other end. The arena serves its purpose though as it hosts many events throughoutthe year.

I have been to many Arena's across the US, but this has to be one of my All-Time Favorites. The sound quality is 1st Rate, and it doesn't appear to have a bad seat in the entire place. Van Andel Arena is simply a Great Venue. We enjoy travelling to Grand Rapids to take in the shows. If you are looking for a great place to see your favorite Band or Singer, make this a Destination to try. You will not be disappointed.

Nice arena to see a concert, however, it was very hot in there. Uncomfortable. Some of the attendees were rude and I questioned why they where there, but that is not the arenas fault. Sound was good.

Nice size for a moderate sized metropolitan city... clean and easily accessible. Acoustics for a concert were average when compared to other similar arena venues.

What a great evening and seeing Bob smile the whole time was very uplifting. He truly enjoys his music, fans, and singing it all out. Very inspirational and the arena does not have a bad seat in the house.

Really nice and clean arena. I feel like any seat would have a really good view. They put in a lot of work on the Griffins games and it shows! Very interactive with the crowd and kids. It is VERY child friendly. Some my like this others not so much. I don't have kids so its a downside for me. Its not like going to a regular hockey game where you can be loud or anything like that and Im pretty sure they kick you out if you even swear. So like I said Im sure parents would love this and it does seem like a really kid friendly place and its not a big deal to follow the rules it just surprised me after only going to NHL games. they put on a nice introduction on the ice and usually will shoot T-shirts and stuff at the crowd between periods so I would say its a nice place to bring the family! Parking is super easy! Just go across the street and its right there. Even in the middle of winter and when its cold out it isn't a bad short walk at all. I would definitely get there a little early just to make sure though but I have never had a problem with it. Staff has always been nice and helpful when I was there and the Griffin Store is kinda small but still nice and has almost anything you could want Griffins related there.

We have spent the last 3 New Year's Eve at a Griffins game. Very family friendly way to celebrate. They have indoor fireworks after the game and usually open skate for the kids. It's an affordable, fun, and a safe place to hang out. We feel good about going out with the kids and being home before the "ball drops". (And all of the crazies are on the roads.)

I have been to van andel numerous times for hockey games and concerts. It's always an easy arena to drive to being located right off the highway. My only advice is to get there early. I most recently went to a hockey game at the arena on New Years and got a later start than I would of liked. Traffic was a nightmare and parking lots and ramps were filled. On top of that there is a construction on some streets and plenty of one ways. As long as you plan ahead and give yourself plenty of time to find parking and navigate the one ways there isn't much of a problem getting to the arena and finding parking. It's a smaller arena compared to Detroit and Chicago arenas but I can't say I have ever had a bad a seat. The bathrooms are clean. After events there is normally police directing traffic. The area feels safe and there are bars and restaurants around to check out if you get there early or want to hang out after an event
