We attend this theater occasionally and the Comedy "the Foreigner" was very good. The atmosphere is very relaxed and comfortable and all the seating is actually pretty good. The actors were very talented and the show was worth the money spent. this is a nice break fro other venues we attend. The price is a little high but for a couple not too bad.

Please do not let the prices deter you from going here! You won't regret it and the money goes toward a good cause. Not to mention that Totem Pole gives a lot back to the local community. I would not recommend taking young children (<10), as they may not be at an age where they can appreciate the performance. I've been several plays here and have enjoyed all of them very much!!

This is a nice playhouse in Caledonia State Park next to the golf course and across Rt. 30 from the pool and campgrounds. This year the concert was Johnny Cash music and was excellent. We also went to a free performance by the kids that attended the acting camp and took our grandson. And yes there is a totem pole out front!

Superb job performing Johnny cash's ring of fire. Live music woven throughout cash's bio. So very glad we made a trip out here-stayed across the street at state park-very convenient.

Went to see steel Magnolias staring Melissa Gilbert from screen and stage. What a great performance by ALL the actors. this program was outstanding. This was the first time for my wife and I to attend a show at the Totem Pole Playhouse. If you've never been; it's a must. This is a wonderful summer place to enjoy fantastic shows. these are stage performances of all types. We have already booked for tickets to go see Ring of Fire. Broadway stars will come in and perform the great Johnny Cash songs. The life of Johnny Cash; "The Man in Black."

What used to be a charming little summer theater off the beaten path has evolved into truly professional venue within reasonable distance to almost everywhere. The shows are selected for audience appeal, but the actors are selected based on absolute professionalism. This year it is a whole new cast in each show. No carry overs.First show started Melissa Gilbert with a group of somewhat lesser known ladies who were every bit her equal. This is not glorified community theater, Totem Pole is truly New York grade theater without the traffic! And the prices aren't New York either...

The Totem Pole Playhouse is a gem nestled in the lush woods of Franklin County. Quaint and charming is descriptive of the building construction that blends perfectly in its location. Easy access to the highway and close proximity to the actors affords a wonderful theatrical experience. Varied productions allows plays to fit your preferences. A wonderful night experience awaits you!

If you enjoy small theaters you will love Totem Pole Playhouse. It was founded by Jean Stapleton and her husband. The actors and actresses are very good. The theater sits in the middle of the pines at Caledonia State Park. The theater is air conditioned for the hot summer days. If you like plays you do not want to miss this one.

We've seen several productions at Totem Pole and really enjoy the place. It's a great summer stock theater and the prices are very reasonable. The actors and actresses are very good and the history of the theater is something to read about. Now that we're living at Penn National we intend to become season subscribers. If you're in the area, do catch a showing.

My wife and I saw 'Barnum!' this past weekend, which was one of the optional evening activities for the Pennsylvania Kiwanis Convention. I saw the original cast on Broadway many years ago, and the production featuring Michael Crawford in London, and 'Barnum!' is a tremendously complex show to present, even for a major Broadway house. The Totem Pole did a fine job scaling the show down to their facility and presented a spirited and lively production of the show. If we happened to be nearby in the future, we would definitely return.

The 63rd season at the Totem Pole Playhouse promised to bring bigger and better shows. I had not had a problem with previous season shows – it was nice to see some lesser known titles and in the past I had especially enjoyed Suite Surrender, the Hank Williams and Buddy Holly shows, as well as the various Sanders Family plays. The first show of the season, Noises Off, is the first show we ever walked out after the first act in all the years of attending the Totem Pole Playhouse. The show was advertised as “The funniest comedy ever written”; “The funniest play written in my lifetime”; and “has anyone ever written a funnier play than Noises Off”. I’m not sure what these folks saw but we did not think it was very funny – didn’t laugh at all during the first act which is why we left. The play was oversold as a comedy and certainly was not even close to being as funny as Suite Surrender. The second play was A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline was which okay but again, the performance just did not seem as good as Always Patsy Cline that was presented at the playhouse a few years ago. Dames at Sea was a delight – the way a real show should be. The tap dancing was the big enjoyment and hopefully there will be more like this. The fourth show we saw was Barnum – it was okay but certainly not the magical experience of past shows such as Honus and Me or those mentioned above. Just because there are more people on stage doesn’t mean the show is better. Quality comes from a magical theatrical experience that combines a well-written play with a cast that fits their roles perfectly.Overall, the biggest disappointment of this season at the Totem Pole was the new ticketing policy. As a partial season subscriber, they would not provide seat assignments when the tickets were purchased. After years of working up to a good seat, this was not a way to reward those who have supported the playhouse for many years. In past years, when purchasing a partial season, you were able to get your seat assignments immediately. The new seats we were assigned were disappointing as compared to the seats we have held for the past 5 years. The increased ticket costs this year prohibited the purchase of a full season which I would never had done since The Sunshine Boys was on the schedule and I would not pay to see that show, ever. The bigger and better 63rd season was a major disappointment and while the playhouse is still a convenient and pleasant atmosphere for live theatre, I’m not sure if I will bother to subscribe for the 64th season unless the ticketing policy is changed so you get your seat assignments as soon as you purchase your tickets.

We enjoy very much going to the Totem Pole Playhouse. The prices are reasonable, and the performers are top notch. Since the playhouse is small, there really is not a bad seat in the house. I highly recommend it.

The Totem Pole Play House is a nice little community theater that attracts some good talent . This season has been a turning point in financial difficulties for the playhouse. Overall the theater is a nice, quaint place in the woods to pass a lovely evening.

We recently saw a Neil Simon play at the Totem Pole starring several nationally-known actors and actresses. The cost of the tickets was about $35.00 each. The theater setting is in a beautiful state park, Caledonia, with plenty of parking. Although I am not huge theater buff, I was impressed by the show, the talent and the theater. I wholly recommend attending a performance here. Where else can you see a quality play with known actors for the price? Certainly not New York!!

My husband and I attended a Saturday matinee performance of A Closer Walk with Patsy. This was our second visit to the theater. The theater appeared to be full. We had seats in the second row which were excellent, but I believe all the seats are good. Lighting and sound is excellent. Parking is plentiful. The theater is easy to get in and out of. The staff is friendly and helpful. There are snacks and drinks available for purchase.
