Front Street is a very fun area, with lots of shopping, restaurants and things to see. You can alsofind day trips, the ferry to Lanai, pretty anything you could want or need is in the area. it is a lot of fun. People are very friendly.

Door-to-door tourist shopping--lots of clothing, snacks, restaurants, art, local knick knacks, and services. Parking is tricky. Don't drive it. It seems crowded, but most of the people stay outside--not in the stores.

It rained last week so my daughter and I made the best of it by spending the day on Front Street. There's so many different shops and places to grab a bite to eat that my 10 year old wasn't ever bored and I loved the variety this area had to offer. As a huge plus, we were able to watch whales while we ate! We loved this area. One thing to be aware of, you will have to pay to park. At the outlet mall it was only $5. Well worth it.

Just hang by the pier and sight see all the boats. Saw fishing boats come in. A great banyan tree and are festival

It's become part of the non-natives strip of high end jewelry and little else. Most of the shops on Front street do not have much else to offer. The Banyan tree and center are the larger sights to see.

This is a nice old town with numerous shops and restaurants. We enjoyed walking the street and looking into the shops and art galleries. Parking is a challenge as there are more tourists with cars than parking spots. We took the Westin shuttle to the outlet mall and walked into town. This is the old capital of the Hawaiian Island. The bay is a whale sanctuary and we could see many whales from shore. Restaurants are pricey here as they are throughout Maui.

I just like to stroll down the street and go into the various stores. And if you are tired, sit and rest under the Banyan Tree and rest in the shade

This street is a massive tourist trap. If you like small novelty shops and common clothing stores selling the same t-shirts in every second shop then you'll love this place. Parking is a nightmare, there is a 3 hour free parking lot at the top of the street but we had to drive around for 5 mins waiting for someone to leave.

Arrived in Lahaina to do a whale watching tour. Found a very busy town full of typical tourist souvenir shops, dining options, tour offices, and a huge Banyan Tree park. The shade in the park was nice since it was a very warm day. The shops are no different than what you will find in any Hawaiian town. It is located right beside the ocean, so water activities are plentiful. Very clean area....packed with people.

Front street in Lahaina is filled with all kinds of shops from restaurants to galleries to specialty shops to tourist traps. You can find anything from a one dollar postcard to a million dollar painting. It is fun to walk up and down both sides exploring the shops. I would suggest going to Front Street on a Friday night. It is when the galleries have the art walk where artists make appearances and show off their latest works.

This town is so cute. Lots of shops for souvenirs and restaurants. The middle of the park is a Banyan tree that was planted around 1873. It is a giant tree with arching branches and normally there are artists and booths set up for shopping.

There are the t- shirt shops the ice cream shops etc But there are interesting galleries and good restaurants among the midst.

This isn't what we expected. We thought it was a nice little Hawaiian town with shops and vendors. In reality its a tourist trap. Similar to the way Las Vegas is just becoming a giant shopping mall so too is Front Street. We found that most the shops were ones we could find in a mall or the city back home, not really the type of shopping we came to Hawaii to do. There are a few little shops left and I highly recommended stopping at The Lahaina Christmas Store. Food was pretty much big restaurants with long wait times. Rather then wasting the rest of our time in Lahaina on Front street we walked down to the beach and spent our time there.

Recommended for shopping and eating and sightseeing. The Banyon Tree Park is worth stopping and enjoying ice cream under. Parking is very hard to come by and be aware when walking down the sidewalks as they can be narrow and close to the street. A must do when staying on Maui.
