We brought our 1 year old here and he absolutely LOVED it! We were worried there wouldn't be much for a baby so young to do, but it really was fabulous! He loved the grocery store and the garden. Climbing up the tree and playing with the magnets. The only thing that ruined our visit a tiny bit was when we first arrived we were the only ones there so he had plenty of room to roam, then after an hour or so a birthday party arrived and we couldn't let him run around on his own as much since there were so many children there. I would definitely recommend calling and making sure there are no parties booked on the day you arrive if you have a small child. But all in all it really was a great time for the three of us! He would have continued playing for hours I'm sure, but got so exhausted he fell asleep in our arms! It's also very affordable!

I recently took my 4-year-old daughter to HealthWorks while visiting family in South Bend during the holidays. I'm sure the museum would have been enjoyable had there not been three machines (or I suppose you could call them "exhibitions") with signs on them saying something about new exhibits coming soon - clearly a manipulative way of saying that the machines were out of order. The museum was not big by any means, and quite frankly the $6/person fee (while this may sound like a good price point for a museum) was too much to cough up for the experience you get. The staff, who I commend for being friendly and welcoming, offered us to see an educational video presentation on the brain. While informational, I felt as if I were suddenly sent in a portal and transported back to the early 1990s - it was clearly outdated and the sound was functioning incorrectly. We received some one-on-one time with a staff member to complete a craft (which was odd how it was not health related as to how we were visiting a health museum). I am guessing we had so much time with the staff member due to the fact that we were the only guests in the museum all morning. They claim this museum is for elementary aged children, however my daughter got bored very quickly for a 4 year-old - I would not recommend spending the money for children maybe older than 8. Overall, I would say the museum is small, exhibits are not kept up properly for guest use, and for these two reasons the museum is overpriced. I would recommend making the drive to Curious Kids Museum in St. Joseph, Michigan over visiting HealthWorks.

I was disappointed by how small it was compared to the costs. I will say though that my nephews did not care. They enjoyed every moment of it and could have stayed for hours! My youngest nephew was two though and didn't enjoy it as much as my 5 year-old nephew. It really is for the younger group - I think someone over the age of 8 would be bored. Although maybe not with the giant jumping game pad in one corner. I had fun on that one! Overall, the kids had fun but I felt it was small and overpriced. However, if my nephews asked to go again, I would say yes.

Kids 7 & 8 had fun but got bored after 1/2 an hour...there is absolutely nothing for adults to do, so we were bored after 5 minutes. We were told there was a movie & she would be starting it in 20 minutes...she never did & by the time she was ready, we were ready to go...no worth your money.

We took our grandson who is 4 here and we had a great time. So many questions kids ask are answered here. There is a skin climbing wall, a light chasing floor game, a light game you chase, a giant " operation game" movie about your inside's, balancing games, pedal power, hoola hoops, stair stepping, questions you read and pick the answer to, a farmer's market, a garden to plant fake plants in, tunnel slides, body strength hanging, body bones puzzle, and so much more. It was interesting for adults too. It cost us less than 20.00 to get in, there was three of us. Bring your camera and spend half a day there, at least 4 hours.

It was pretty small and I was a little disappointed. My 3 year old had a great time, but my older kids (9-13) were board.

Very nice museum. Came here with my sister and her two kids (3 & 1). This is a pretty small space with things inside, but it's inexpensive. Good use of space, lots of interesting exhibits, games, and activities for kids in a range of ages from 3 to about 9. Everything was kept in good condition and the staff is very friendly. They have a rock climbing wall, a light up floor game, a full size operation game, body exhibits, an enormous brain and intestines. It was very nice. Try to avoid going when a field trip is there, because those kids can be craaazzzyyyy. We stayed about 2 hours which was perfect.
