We did visit it very late in the season, but still enjoyed it as a quick little stop on our travels!

We visited in February and there were still quite a few butterflies to see in the Eucalyptus trees. Nice place to stop for 1/2 hour.

Awe-inspiring! Thousands of Monarch butterflies stop at this grove from Nov. - Feb during their migration. Friendly, knowledgeable volunteers inform you about the butterflies and the grove.

What a great place to look at Monarch butterflies fluttering away or resting on tall eucalyptus. Bonuses are plenty of parking and volunteers talk about the grove and the butterflies. Must do in Pismo Beach right off Highway 1 on the outskirts of town.

Lots of fun but very small area. A definite must if yourvin the area. Near the ocean and can walk down to it.

The Monarch Butterflies come to winter here, in the eucalyptus and cypress trees. They may be hanging in clumps in the trees, or they may be flying around if the weather is warm. Watch your step, as they occasionally land on the path, and you don't want to step on them. A fun stop on your way, to watch the Monarchs.

This place is great. It is a nice spot to take your family or your special girl and just take a nice walk around. Also camp grounds are in the area if you choose to stay. My wife loved walking through looking at all them butterflies.

I wouldn't drive all the way to the central coast for this...but if you're here between October and Februrary do yourself a favor and check it out. It's easy to find right next to Pismo State Beach campground. This park service does a good job with presentations and scopes set up to get a close-up view of the butterflies. Sometimes they just look like leaves until you take a closer look. Bring your beach gear and take the short walk to the beach through the campground. It's much less crowded than the beach by the pier. There's also a nice boardwalk to walk/run if you don't like the sand.

Stumbled on this place because we took a detour. It was a good stop for my girls. The guide there in a wheelchair was very friendly and helpful while explaining to us about the butterflies and the migration. Must stop and see if you're in town!

Cool to see the butterflies in the Eucalyptus trees. Docents set up telescopes so you can really see the clusters up close and personal. It's a quick outing but there is a path to the beach from the grove if you want to spend more time in the area.

Not exactly what I expected, but definitely worth seeing nonetheless. I wish I had brought binoculars for an even better view.

We visited on a special day in February when several exhibits were set up. My grandson had his face painted, was shown the life cycle with actual larvae etc., and enjoyed some craft activities. We all learned something new about the beautiful monarch butterfly. Beautiful spot!

Well, if you've watched the whales migrate and the elephant seals do there thing. There is another group that migrates and breeds on milkweed and eucalyptus yrees. Yes the Monarch Butterfly. If you drive south on Highway 1 leaving Pismo towards Garden Grove. On your right hand side just past Pismo Coast Village and the campground. There is small area fenced around. Park off the highway and have a great time.Around Jan and Feb. They should be there. I would tell you about it but see for yourself. There are Docent's to teach you s trailer of Butterfly stuff and signs at telescopes to entertain. So if you have not been there and wonder How this fragile creature can make and survive this long Migration. Enjoy and Marvel.

I think we arrived on site at the best time of the year .The small grove of trees was thick with the monarch butterflies. A spectacular natural show with very informative guides

Great place to visit, grandkids especially enjoyed it. Close to the dunes so plan on visiting those while there! Parking along a busy street and only one outdoor toilet & no running water!
