My wife and I cut our road-trip teeth back in the '80 prowling the backroads of Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino, and other California wine-producing regions looking for small, low-production wineries to visit and buy wine from. Visiting Stable Ridge this year was a blast from the past. You get to sample the winery's wares with the people who make it. They talk about the wine, the processes they undertook making it and whether it met their expectations. The winery itself is small, and if there aren't too many customers, personal tours can be had. The winery features a pleasant tasting room, a porch, a gift shop/tasting room well stocked with wine-related products. We never go away empty-handed, whether it be wine or related material. The Winery is located not far from Stroud, OK., on a scenic alignment of of Route 66 (something the winery includes in their branding). Bottom line: this is a wonderful place to visit to taste, and perhaps more importantly learn about Oklahoma wines and wine making. It will make your 66 trip (or any other reason you find yourself near Stroud) worth the trip!

Really enjoyed this winery. Very generous on their wine tasting, & really tasted some delicious wines. Definitely left with a few purchases. The gift shop was excellent. We were so glad we stopped at this winery. The owners were so nice, & we enjoyed visiting with them

My wife and I visit wineries in Oklahoma and Arkansas and Stableridge was a definite must go. The RedRed is worth going for. If you like wine knick knacks, this is your place. Great wines and super friendly staff and they know their wines.

We visit Oklahoma wineries often. This is one of my favorite places. I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE (did I mention how much I LOVE)... their Jeremiah's Red Wine!!! It is a staple in my wine cabinet!! I only thought I new what red wine was supposed to taste like... NOW I KNOW!!! Nice people, gave us a tour and explained the process in great detail. Cute gift shop area.If you are in the area, don't miss the "Flying Saucer Landing FIeld" about 1/2 - 1 mile east of their location. LOL

This was a great stop on route 66. The tour was informative. The staff is so helpful and the wine tasting was delightful. It was professional but their friendly manor made it fun too. The gift shop is well stocked with wine gifts and ideas for wine lover's..

This winery and its owners/workers know how to be inviting, helping, and friendly. They greeted us as soon as we walked in, though there were several other people tasting and browsing. They offered us tastes of every wine, including the port, which was out of this world awesome. I liked some of their dry wines and bought one bottle, and we looked around the beautiful old porch.Highly recommend this place!

This place has a wonderful history. Knowing that it is a Oklahoma base and uses only Oklahoma grapes was very informative. It was something to see the vats used and hear how the wine is made. Real neat that they have a meeting house and outdoor meeting areas for groups. Location is on Route 66 which is well traveled and is close to being in the center of the state.

Went on a personal wine tour of central Oklahoma and found this winery. A cute gift shop, a very helpful staff, and excellent wine located in an 1898 building that waa previously a Catholic Church. I like knowing expectations so I was not offended by their notice of wine fees (waived if wine is purchased). Generous with amount of tastings and the wine slushie (really liked the peach). Purchased three and the slushie mix: Jeremiah's Red, Peachy P, and Soliel. Appreciated the information the staff provided. We will definitely return.

A great little winery awaits you on the side of Route 66 in Stroud, OK. They have a wine-themed gift shop and tasting bar in the front of the property with some relaxing tables overlooking a vineyard in back. If you want to sample their wines, they will waive the tasting fee if you buy a bottle. The gift shop has a wide range of cute and useful items including wine chillers, racks, t-shirts, jewelry, and much more. The winery has several award-winning wines, and the one we choose was called Soleil, which had a lemon flavor to it that we can't wait to try with seafood. Lovers of both dry and sweet wines should find a flavor or two to take home.

We decided to take Route 66 instead of the main highways on this trip so we could enjoy the scenery a la Americana. What a jewel we found in Stroud! Most of the wineries we saw along our way were off the beaten path and we passed the entrances before had a chance to comprehend there was a winery there. StableRidge caught our eye immediately so we literally did a turn around and pulled in. Nicely decorated and laid out. The friendly greeting we received pulled us in and the tasting sealed it. Their wines were delicious. They burst with flavor and passion as they come alive in your mouth. It was a party of delight! We have had a number of blended wines before that just did not hit the mark but these were fantastic! We purchased 4bottles and will look for this when we get home to Houston. And we will make sure to go Route 66 with a special stop next time in OKC.

My hubby and I were taking a little drive up Route 66 when we saw StableRidge. We have seen them out at the fair and other fesitvals. We enjoyed their wine that we won at an Auction and thought it would be nice to get another bottle. The husband and wife that own the winery are VERY nice. They took us on a little tour followed by a wine tasting. We got to hear about how the wine was made and all the work that goes into getting it "just right". It was quite interesting. The building has a great history and the gift shop is lovely. We can't wait to go back this summer and enjoy some wine on the patio when everything is in bloom.

The only reason I have given this winery so high a score is because they have a great schedule of bands playing almost every day over the summer season. However, their wine is overpriced and if you do a tasting you are REQUIRED to buy a bottle of wine. I will always buy a bottle after a tasting just b/c its the nice thing to do, but to be told I have to is something I did not appreciate. There are at least 2 other winerys in this town and I would go a block up the road to the North to the Territory Cellars in your in Stoud.

While visiting some friends in OKC, they took us to this quaint little winery. The husband of this team took us on a tour. Our friends boasted about the wife (the wine maker), but we did not have a chance to meet her. The tour was lovey, the owner knowledgeable and friendly. Enjoyed the wineritas and left with a bottle of Jeremiah's Red (still need to get my chocolates to enjoy with it) and the Moscato (my favorite wine).

Small and intimate for tasting - we were glad we were off season and the only ones there. I really wish I could remember her name, but the lady who presented the tasting gave a great history of the place, and some local lore. The wine's were good, and a couple were terrific (yes, I bought some.) The gifts were unique and imaginative. If we were to travel throught the area again, I would stop here again!

I absolutely loved this stop on Route 66. It's a cute little winery with an amazing little gift shop with the neatest items. You could really shop for some nice gifts here. The guy that worked there walked around with my friend and I and gave the background of the whole place. We casually looked at all the gift items for sale and other neat artistic items on the walls. Then, we went to do the tasting. We were started off with the reds which I usually don't like; but I must say the Shiraz was one of my favorites here and I believe it was only $30 a bottle. Most of the bottles were around the $18 range with just a couple around $30. We did flights of the whites after the reds and were given some oyster crackers to munch on. We did buy one bottle of chardonney. It was very hard to pick which bottle we really wanted to purchase. The workers here are great people. I really enjoyed this stop.
