We don't like crowded beaches, so this place was nice. Cost 6 bucks to get in, which may deter some of the crowds. Checkout the beach at parking lot#1 first, as the further down you go the dunes have cliff erosion so there's not much beach.

A really nice beach, not very crowded at all. There were bathroom facilities (didn't use) and I only wish I had discovered this sooner! This beach had plenty of parking and had a small entrance fee.

nice quiet beach/park in busy south Florida. Clean place. beaches are nice. paths to walk are nice as well. Plenty of access to ocean's beach or inter-coastal waterway. Several access points for kayaks. Worth checking out.

In the days of segregation this was the "negro beach", when I was growing up. It's a blessing now because it might have saved this beach from development. Rent a canoe and paddle into the mangrove area. Always greatWHERE SANDALS, if you forget you will wish you hadn't because the Australian pines leave little surprises plus sandburs.Enjoy a long walk on a deserted beach.

very clean restrooms...a fee to enter, but much less than feeding the meters at Dania Beach (which is right next to it) if you plan to stay for any length of time....Purchasing an annual state park permit is a good deal if you go to state parks oftenno kites allowed in some areaspeople do come to fish off the jetties and from shoreyou will find wind surfers there you'll always be able to find a spot to put down a blanket away from crowdsWeekends are busy with the pavillions usually rented out for parties or weddings.... so you can't shelter under them, and aren't able to use the cooking areas near them....no cooking on the beach itselfthe kayak and canoe rentals are no more, nor is the mini resturant that was thereThe beach really was hit hard with storms and there are huge dropoffs getting down to the water in many areasno life guards, and the seaweed that washes ashore isn't picked up like the city beaches do...but the park rangers patrol quite often and remove trash, keep things family friendly

Good place to do what review title implies. For 6 bucks all day you have access to the beach which goes the length of the park and also a fishing jetty. Also has numerous bathrooms, picnic tables with grilles and seating. Should be a good place for a family or friends outing. Saw several rangers so safety shouldn't be a problem. Heartily recommend.

Love going to this park for BBQ's! The park rangers are great! Have had many birthdays here. Plenty of shade, nice beach and kept very clean.

While a little out of the way, this beach is a local favorite and rapidly becoming a tourist one as well. Great parking, bathrooms, grilling and shade trees. There are quieter areas as well. And yes, on a Saturday afternoon, wonderful watching the huge cruise ships leaving port. Listen for the cowbells from the condos across the channel as the ships pass by. Love it, miss it very much!

In this state park you can take pets, do bbq's, fish from pier, restaurants, there is something for everyone!

Close to the main areas near Fort Lauderdale, this nice wide beach provides numerous locations to hang out. We went on a Saturday, specifically to be able to watch the cruise ships leaving. Kids played on the beach for a nice while. In the water, digging in the sand, and playing catch. After a while, we had our picnic lunch, and then ventured to the northern most part of the park. Saw a wedding on the beach, and then headed to the breakwater to watch the ships leave. in a space that doesn't appear that wide, we watched several cruise ships start their journey. Fun to watch, and interesting to watch the Pier Pilot ships as well as the security boats as they guided the ships out to see. This place is a must do.

Went there to the jetty to watch where the Port Everglades cruise ships leave from. This is a perfect location

Pier, kite surfers, good waves, good sand, easy to reach with plenty of parking on a meter. It was windy and waves were high but we had a great time. Straight

I love beaches. This one has a great reef off shore for some shallow diving. It's a federal park so no hanky panky. You can grill you can camp or launch a boat. Close to the airport you can watch the planes. Bring your sunscreen.

The beach here is sparsely attended, which is a big draw for me and my wife. There are bathroom facilities and picnic areas. Lots of parking. We like to park at the north end and stroll along the boardwalk that twists out onto the jetty framing the shipping channel on the south. We go to the end of the boardwalk and watch the ships cruise into and out of the port. At times we'll take off our shoes and walk in the sand along the beach. It's never crowded here. A delightful way to get away from the city.

For $6 you get to explore a long coastal strip fronting Fort Lauderdale airport and the sea port.Sandy beacxhes give excellent swimming in warn seas with gently shelving waters. Good picnic and bathroom facilities with many parking areas. If you walk out on the Mole at the harbour mouth you can watch the gigantic cruise ships leave port late afternoon for the Carribean. It was peaceful, clean and not very busy.
