If it wasn't for the amazing view, this restaurant would be out of business. We went here twice, thinking the first time was so-so but that we couldn't beat the location. On today's visit we became truly convinced that there is a huge problem with the kitchen. My husband and I ordered the nachos--the liquid cheese was the first sign that these would not be great. How hard is it to use real cheese? The chips were soggy and the whole thing was a big pile of goop after the top layer was eaten. My kids ordered breakfast type food and were given their food 20 mins after our food arrived at the table. Apparently our waiter didn't catch our nachos in time before they were served. So disappointed because this restaurant is within walking distance and the view truly can't be beat. If you go, maybe just stick to a drink or two and enjoy the atmosphere.

Their burgers and nachos are amazing. I haven't tried much else but when I go with friends they are always impressed with their orders as well. Scenic beach/sunset views are gorgeous. Only thing you should watch out for is a parking lot Nazi who will rudely question where you are going. I almost turned around and left when this happened.

Best bar/ restaurant on the beach by far! Large tikki hut, good looking bartenders, colorful beach chairs and umbrellas and a view of that blue water and white sand- what's not to love?!!!! I was seated and served with a smile and I went back three days in a row! I recommend the shrimp tacos. If you are at the beach- you can't pass up this bar! It looks and feels tropical and gives you that "I'm on vacation!" feel that most people crave all year! I will definitely go back next time I am down on Anna Maria island!

The view is great. The food was okay. Not terrible, not great. My iced tea was so watered down it tasted like water. Prices were pretty high for the quality.Waitstaff was friendly and accommodating though.

My once favorite breakfast café overlooking the Gulf of Mexico has made some changes. They have expanded the tiki area and the ambiance is still great, but had the worst breakfast and cup of coffee ever. (Their breakfast and coffee was excellent before and sitting there watching the dolphin and pelicans was such a great experience...one I really look forward to when I come to Anna Maria Island.) Everything on the menu was much more expensive, which I don't mind paying more if it is good, but this was not. I once gave this place (when it was Gulf Dr. Café) an excellent rating and even a Trip Advisor sticker of approval. I won't be back unless I see some good reviews posted. I don't know, but it may be a good place to come have a drink in the evening and watch the sunset. But for now, my favorite breakfast place has died... :(

We stopped at 1pm for lunch, about 1/3 of the tables were full on the patio. We waited at the bar for 20 minutes, nobody offered us a drink, after another 20 minutes and still no drinks, we asked about our table and we were told that the kitchen was so backed up that they could not seat anymore until they caught up. We left.

My wife and I came here with another couple while visiting. The bar itself is awesome and what a fantastic place to see a sunset!! Now onto other things. The food was horrible, drinks watered down disasters and the service was bad. Other than that it was good. We ordered mixed drinks and it was like drinking a coke or just pure tonic. Ordered four appetizers. sweet potato fries which were overcooked and dry, calamari was just as bad, onion rings were just frozen fast food chain type disasters and last but definitely less, the deep fried cheese sticks. They were terrible. Once again overcooked and they had cream cheese in them. Yuck. Not one appetizer was appetizing and overcooked in old fryer grease. Trust me, it's a great place to see a sunset, but just order a bottle of beer or glass of wine and call it good. Hard to screw that up, that's if you get a server to bring it of course. Total for this mess of four appetizers and four drinks, $78 before tip. REALLY!

Enjoyed a great lunch with a spectacular view today. Yummy food and great drinks. Will come back when we return to Anna Maria Island!

Was told by the front desk clerk at our hotel to try this place--she said it had a Happy Hour also.Got there about 5pm, and sat at a table outside. When the waiter came over we asked about Happy Hour. He said we had to sit under the roof and they had other "Stupid Rules" for Happy Hour, so we just ordered some drinks. We ordered food, which was about the same as McDonalds--I had a Burger and my wife had a sandwich. Average. But the sunset was beautiful!!

We stay just a few condos down. So walking is our choice of transportation which makes this a great gem for us. So one hot sunny day the ladies of our group decided to do a girls cocktail hour at the tiki hut. We strolled up off the beach and seated ourselves as instructed. No one came over to our table of 8 so we went to bar and ordered. Drinks were good and we enjoyed the scenery. Views of the ocean are top notch. This is a great little bar on the beach the tiki hut is fabulous and while we were there again for dinner we witnessed 3 weddings right in a roll so you know its a great destination spot.

If you like the tiki hut atmosphere, good drinks and service, reasonable food....this place is for you! Cannot beat the views!!! Go and see for yourself!

The setting is perfect, the food is good, but the service could be improved- and it seems to stem from one waitress who feels the need to boss the rest of the staff around when they are in the middle of a conversation with patrons/taking orders. Seriously, no less than three times out waitress was talking to us and another felt the need to interrupt and bark orders ( which seemingly we're not important and could wait...e.g., I think your other table is wrapping up now). Ditch this anchor and the place would be improved instantly.

This has to be one the easiest reviews I have written. This place is very, very good.The setting is fantastic - right on the beach as you drive down into Bradenton with parking opposite.We (family of four) waked in for lunch and we were met by Lauren and Megan who looked after us throughout our time. After lunch we played on the beach before returning for a late afternoon drink.Food was good, location and service excellent. Sadly due to wanting to try other places we have not been back but when we return to AMI it's in the top three for us to come back to.I have no idea why some reviewers have not the same experience we had - although on hearing how some guests have spoken, since arriving for our holiday in the US, to waiting staff you do wonder if this has anything to do with it? This is a great place for lunch, I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

Last place we visited on our vacation. We wanted to see a beautiful sunset. This place delivered. What an amazing sunset. The food was also amazing. Sitting on the beach we ordered the calamari and shrimp and scallop pasta. Both were phenomenal. Yes and both were a little pricey! But they were both well worth it. Highly recommend this place to all visiting Bradenton beach.

$8.25 watered down mojitos served in plastic cups, 5 slices of fried green tomatoes priced at $7.00, A small bowl of mediocre clam chowder for $6.25 and coconut shrimp entrée that had 10 pieces of very small shrimp and over-fried waffle fries for $18.99!! Everything that was fried was a dark brown color, suggesting that their fryer's oil was well overdue to be changed out. For 2 appetizers, 2 drinks and one share entrée, the bill came to $60! Definitely not worth that price, and one of the worst meals myself and my grandmother had. Unfortunately, this was her birthday dinner and I was embarrassed that we decided to come here. On top of it all, the service was slow and we had to repeatedly ask for things such as refills, silverware and napkins! Ridiculous. Please, do yourself a favor and avoid this place altogether. HIGHLIGHTS: TERRIBLE SERVICE, OVERPRICED, AWFUL FOOD, AWKWARD SERVERS WHO FORGET TO BRING YOU THE NECCESITIES AND DISGUSTING WATERED-DOWN BEVERAGES.
