This definitely puts a smile on your face! Classic Route 66 with a twist! These roadside milestones are what makes the journey fun!

I had never heard of or seen this water tower until I arrived in Atlanta, but what a mood lifter! The town is not big, so the sunny smile is visible almost anywhere. And when you go into buildings (like the unique and newly restored 1908 octagonal library or the Palms Grill and Cafe) they have little replicas of the tower sitting where you can get your smiley fix, even indoors. Wish I had one to make me smile at home!

We've seen the smiley face tower on many travelling tv shows and so made sure we grabbed a photo of it as we were passing on our Route 66 road trip. Easy to spot from the road as you're passing.

Really cute. You can see if from the highway especially if you are going north on 55. We missed it going south.

As Route 66 leaves Atlanta make sure you don’t miss taking a photo of their water tower off to the right which has been painted as a giant smiley face...it’s bound to make you smile as well.
