Called on our way to Winchester. Well signposted, lots of parking and they need it as on a Sunday lunchtime it was very busy. There are 2 cafes, the first by the car park which is large, a little basic but with an extensive menu. A suggestion for here would be to put in a barista style coffee machine and you could charge a little more for improved quality. The 2nd is near the house and we did not visit here. Lots of footpaths through the grounds and woods with good signage, plenty of birds and the snowdrops were very impressive. There are large grassy areas, a children's play area and BBQ pits to hire but no seating areas in the grounds to picnic on. Maybe the seats are put away for the winter?I would recommend and will revisit if in the area again.

One of my favourite places. Different sorts of things to do - the House itself is a great example of a "small" country house; the park is wonderful - a mixture of wildness and lawns. BBQ pitches availoable The adventure playground for children. The Ice House is an insight to days gone by. The church is lovely. Christmas in the House is great - a proper Victorian experience. Two refreshment places - the main busy bustling self service café and the brilliant tea rooms with lovely cream teas. I think the charge for the walled garden is a bit too high, but you can visit during the annual Remembrance Garden free of charge (The Remembrance Garden is a very sobering and emotional place). Often we just pop in for a walk and a cup of tea - the House needs longer, as do the nature trails and activity trails for children.Overall, an undervalued gem.

this is a lovely park, great for dogwalkers and children and everyone who appreciates the outdoors. the snowdrops are wonderful, and well worth a visit,

A lovely friendly place to go wi children and dogs. Most people friendly and have a chat, all the dogs seem happy to be out walking and meeting new friends. A popular place for meeting friends for the children to play in the park.

Excellent for families of all ages. Great play areas and walks. Fair priced Cafe and coffee shop. Kids just love to run around in the open space. A real must for a good value afternoon out.

We are lucky enough to live close to Lydiard so visit it all the time, especially in the summer. But even when we didn't live there we still used to go. It's so beautiful you can't believe it's free. Lots of families with dogs and bikes. Lots of ducks to feed. Loads of space. People have bbqs and family party's there in the summer. A great walk too. The house is spectacular and the church and walled gardens are worth a look too. My husband proposed there so it will always be my favourite.

We come here really often, mostly at weekends and love it. There is a great bike ride route around the lake which we have done on all sorts sizes of bikes as our kids have gone from balance bikes to full size ones. We also take kites and spend hours lazing around in the top park. The walled garden is lovely. The ropes course is great fun and good for birthday parties and the two play parks are always a big hit. The park is clean and there is no litter anywhere. This is a great place to get outdoors for a few hours at no cost.

Lovely open space to walk and enjoy the countryside. Lake and plenty of wildlife to see. Great walks though the woodland, and an old country manor house to see. Spoke to two gentlemen conducting a ground survey to detect the route of the old Roman road in the park land. Play areas for children and toliet and cafe facilities.

Lydiard park is great for all ages and is a lovely place to either visit with the kids or take your own lunch and sit in the park and eat it. If you like taking photographs then the snowdrops and bluebells are lovely in the spring. Lydiard house is also a great place to visit see the website for details on prices. If you have a dog then this is a really good place to take it for a long walk as there is a very long trail around the grounds that will exercise your dog (nicely away from young children). Its also a lovely walk for those who are keen to keep fit. There is no entrance fee to the actual park and also no parking fee which is a very big bonus :)

we are very frequent visitors being a 10 minute walk away.We visit with grand children and friends. There are lakes with swans and ducks .The house and memorial gardens are well worth a visit.Lots of grassy areas for picnics and games. There is an excellent kiddies play park. The café is in my view adequate but well patronised so maybe I am too picky. It can get very busy during sunny weekends and school holidays.
