Ok, if you've been on whiskey tour you might feel like you don't need to go on another. NOT TRUE. There is a wonderful history lesson and tour here. Lots of hands on stuff as well. I've never been offered the opportunity before to bottle my own. This was to be a gift and I recorded the whole event. All the way down to actually registering the bottle. The tour itself is a little long with no place to sit till the very end. So, if you are older, younger, or have issues with standing and walking you might want to forgo this tour. Otherwise, it was a great time. The end tasting session was awesome. Stop by for a "wee" taste!

I had no idea this distrillery was on my doorstep this whole time! What a fantastic attraction in the North East of Scotland! We had the lovely Alistair take us round and part with his knowledge and wisdom. We had visitors over from New York who also thoroughly enjoyed their trip also!Would absolutely recomend this very enjoyable tour of a local hot-spot! Don't have to be a whisky drinker to enjoy it either!

We were staying in the area so booked an afternoon tour, The Rare Pair Tour. From the initial phone call to book, taken by Jane, to the end of the tour we were made to feel special. Yvonne was our very knowledgable guide and explained everything we needed to know, a lovely friendly person. After the tour came the tasting, as a non whisky drinker I was the driver, so my husband was free to taste the various whiskies accompanied by different cheeses and dark chocolate. All in all we had a brilliant time and didn't leave empty handed! Thank you to everyone concerned, keep up the good work! Highly recommended. Xxx

We did the wee tasting tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very interesting and well explained by our guide Yvonne. A couple of drams at the end made it even betterWould recommend it to anyone thinking of going, or looking for a distillery tour

We did the wee tasting tour and it was a great afternoon out. It was really interesting to see a working distillery, although as it was a saturday there wasn't any production. The guide was very knowledgeable and as I was driving my partner could have a taster of two extra whiskies so he was pretty pleased about that!Having been to the Jameson's distillery in dublin I can honestly say this is in a whole different league.

Great staff, enjoyable and informative tour, tasty whisky! I recommend stopping by for a visit. Several tours to choose from so flexible to fit your schedule.

Have been on a few whisky tours but this has to be the best even though I was driving so couldn't indulge. Knowledgeable guide and a great description and walk through of the process. Nice little shop to start and finish well worth the £6 for the basic tour.

Myself and a few friends visited Glen Garioch last weekend. The whisky tasting tour was enjoyable although some of the enchantment is taken away when you realise that part of the product is now prepared offsite.

We went with the "wee tasting tour", which was an excellent tour which was very informative and interesting. Alasdair was our tour guide and was very knowledgeable. There were plenty of samples given of the different whiskies produced at the distillery throughout the tour. The distillery is quite close to Aberdeen city although I don't know how easy it would be to get there using public transport. The price of the tour was reasonable, although I do think that there should have been a reduced price for the people who were driving afterwards who were therefore not sampling the alcohol.

Hour bus ride from city centre to see tour of working distillery. They don't malt the barley on sight anymore but rest of it is done and you get to walk through and see the actual workers producing the whisky. I hate the factory tours that are more museum rides than factories so this was great.

We have visited quite a few distilleries in the last few years but going to Glen Garioch last week was the best yet. We were really pleasantly surprised by the ambience of the place. It has a really homely and friendly feel to it. The staff were brilliant and the focus put on quality rather than quantity comes through in their attitudes as well as in thier final product. The information imparted during the tour was exemplary - thanks Alistair! We were also given a tasting of each if the bottles we considered buying and lots of great advice on collecting. Their whiskies are also some of the very best available. Now i know why!!Mikey

Much to my husband's disappointment, we only had time for one distillery while we traveled in Scotland. So, we set out on the Internet to find the perfect one before our trip. We needed a Saturday tour and we found many places were closed or didn't do tours on the weekends. Then, we found Glen Garioch (pronounced Glen Gary). Oh my word, it was amazing!! My kids and I really had no interest in a distillery but we were willing to do this for my husband who really wanted to. Both kids and I also learned so much and had a great time! We did the VIP tour with bottling and it was worth every single bit of money we paid! Fascinating! You do need to make sure you have a designated driver because my husband was able to taste and try quite a bit of scotch before he picked out which one he wanted to bottle himself. My husband really enjoyed the bottling experience and of course you can't take liquids on airplanes, so he carefully wrapped his bottle and was thankful that it made it home safely! If I had been thinking, I would have brought along some bubble wrap which probably would have been better than my husband's t-shirt to wrap it up in the suitcase. I would highly recommend a trip to Glen Garioch! Our whole family loved learning about the chemistry and history of the place!

My friend and I decided to visit the Glen Garioch Distillery after seeing the spree voucher in the spree book. We travelled by bus from aberdeen so we could both enjoy a wee nip or two! We were greeted by two lovely ladies who were expecting us, gave us a an idea of what to expect and had a good old chin wag. We then watched a very informative DVD, explaining the process and then we met Dougie, who gave us our fantastic tour. Although they were in their quiet season, it was very informative and Dougie delivered it very professionally and was very knowledgable! We were then given a delicious cocktail, a nip of of Glen Garioch whiskey and a taster of an Auchentoshan liqueur. I can't fault the day one bit, it was absolutely, 100% fantastic. And it only cost us £3 each!

I visited this nice old fully functional distillery on a business trip. The tour was early in the morning and we were already nosing whisky (Founder's Reserve) at 10 am - which was a bit too much for some of my group. Very interesting tour that went into every detail of the whisky making process. Glen Garioch (pronounced 'geery') is definitely a boutique distillery, with a production of only 1 million liters of whisky per year (compare it with Glenfiddich: they make 10 million liters of pure alcohol per year as a basis for whisky). Except for malting and bottling everything is done at this one location, with only about sic people working there. I bought a bottle of the 12 year old but haven't opened it yet...

Organised a trip for 3 Belgian whisky nuts.and went round with them. Every stage of the whisky making process was clearly explained [with the exception of malting as they buy theirs in]. With only a staff of about half a dozen they make a helluva fine dram. They stopped peating it a few years back and the result is a light, fragrant dram that brings out the honey, floral notes. We also tasted the older, peated, stuff too and that was excellent in its way, but the decision to go unpeated - brave at the time - has been a great call. Great experience and lovely visitor centre where it starts and finishes.
