Visited this distillery in October 2014. It was only £5 for the tour and a wee dram of one of their single malts at the end. Most distilleries charge double that with a slug of the fine scotch at the end of your tour so this is good value ( wish I wasnt driving that day). We had Karen as our guide who was welcoming and funny and made the visit for us. She was very good with our granddaughter also.Tour takes about 40 mins and is very interesting. A must do up there.

Words can not express how great our time there was. Friendly hardly begins to say how great the staff were. Food was just fantastic. And the whisky ! I just can not express myself well enough on that front. If you ever get the chance to stay here. Grab it as fast as you can.

Really good value for money.....£5 and a nip at the end. Hilda was really knowledgeable and made the tour hugely interesting. Facilities were spotlessly clean. Highly recommend a visit.....

We had an interesting and relaxed tour round Glendronach distillery. The guide was very knowledgeable and by the end of the trip I felt I had learned something. My husband had the premier tour which meant he could enjoy an 18 year old Whisky and a 21 year old one plus the manager's cask. So he certainly enjoyed his day. Definitely worth a visit if you are a Whisky enthusiast.

They still use the tried and trusted timber vats. very pretty grounds, very informative tour, good tastings. Apart from the whiskey, they produce a lovely Heather Honey with Glendronach in it!

We drove into Glendronach on our way to Dufftown and in all honesty, we talked about going back. Such was the welcome, help and authenticity of this distillery and the staff. We felt that many of the distilleries we saw elsewhere were corporate and bland. Gelndronach is not only a very friendly place, but it is smart, informative and a darned fine whisky to boot.

Karen did a great tour. Interesting stories. Nice old buildings. And to complete it, a very good tasting. Nummer 4 was my favourite. The only problem was I fell asleep afterwards, due to the big portions of dram.

Cut it fine and arrived bang on 11:00am when the tour was about to start. All of the others on the tour were having the Connoisseurs tour, but the staff still let me take the Discovery Tour at the last minute. Karen was the tour guide and just as the other reviewers state she is knowledgeable and makes the experience enjoyable and also fun.The tour covered everything within the distillery from tasting the barley to the final product. Everything seemed to be timed for the tour, mashing was in progress, fermentation was in different stages within the numerous tuns, wash and spirit stills in operation with the middle cut coming off in the spirit safe at the time. The various smells and aromas throughout were amazing. Then came my little bonus having joined the others taking the Connoisseurs tour. Whisky drawn from the cask in the warehouse. We were treated to a 12 yo Bourbon cask (yes a Bourbon cask at Glendronach). Comparably light in colour but full of flavour. Then came the daddy, a 22 yo sherry cask at full strength. Blinding aromas and having held the glass, the whisky also poured all over my hand, which meant an extra nosing sensation for a little while after too.Back in the visitor centre I parted ways with my tour party, as they were to further experience a full platter of different expressions under careful guidance from Karen. Meanwhile I returned for my inclusive dram of 12 yo (which I traded up for the 21yo Parliament being familiar with 12, 15 and 18yo expressions already). Excellent dram and ever so accommodating hosts at every stage. Needless to say I left with a bottle of 18yo under arm for when I get back home to Wales.Passing their time outside, my wife and 3 year old were entertained by baby Salmon in the stream and also by a driver collecting a batch of 21yo ready for bottling.Excellent tour and excellent product. A distillery that everyone visiting Scotland should strive to visit. And looking at the experience the guys were having on the connoisseurs tour, it is very much recommended (so is a driver).

A mid-April monday pm - the tour was really enjoyable, only five of us on the trip (four of our party and a Belgian visitor) and Karen made us all welcome and included. I had never heard of or tried GlenDronach until two days previously and wondered why a whisky drinker of thirty plus years had missed this for so long! The two non whisky drinkers in our party also enjoyed the tour and I left having purchased a bottle of the 15 year old "Revival" - my little tip to those buying the same is pour it out, then leave it for twenty minutes, it is really lovely and up there with other high quality better known single malts.GlenDronach is well worth making a journey to visit, Karen was great, and Frank joined in with the chat in the shop afterwards with some good thoughts and advice. We'll visit again on another trip to the area - that's all the recommendation you really need.ps. The "Discovery Tour" entry fee is deducted from a bottle purchase at the end of the visit

I arrived with two of my friends on Thursday morning, we were lucky to get a personal tour since it was just the three of us, Karen, our guide was fantastic, full of banter and laughs couldn't have hoped for a more knowledgeable and passionate guide!I opted for the £15 tour, as I am a Whisky enthusiast and love GlenDronach, and it was worth every penny! The Distillery itself is beautiful, with plenty of history, well worth a visit, can't recommend it enough.

Me and my girlfriend paid a visit to GlenDronach as a way of getting a distillery in before the tourist season was finished and the distilleries revert to operating winter hours. I expected our tour to be the usual 'this is how whisky is made' etc. When we arrived it turned out we were the only two on the tour. Great! Our guide was Karen and she could tell straight away we knew how whisky is made etc so tailored our tour to speak in a lot more depth about the distillery itself. She was absolutely excellent. I paid for the premium tasting and I wasn't left disappointed. The whisky I sampled was excellent. This distillery really is worth a visit.
