It would actually make sense to buy a ticket for visiting this outlandish villa, if only the price weren't so high. Imho 11,50€, for each visitor, is truly excessive (rate Jan 2015) !!!Villa Kerylos is a good option if anything better doesn't come up during your stay in Beaulieu.Combined with VK there is also Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, which costs 13€ for a single entrance, but you can have a unique ticket for 20€, that allow to visit both villas.Does this combo sounds better...? Thanks anyway

However wonderful classical ruins are, few are sufficiently preserved to get a real idea of much more than the floor plan and a few columns. This is a full scale reproduction by an academic, so is as close as we can get. And he chose a wonderful location which reminded him of Greece.A real must see. There is a combined ticket with the the Ephrussi Rothschild Villa and Gardens on the nearby Cap Ferrat, also world class. When we visited (December) Kerlyos was only open in the afternoon. So best to go to the Ephrussi first. The 81 from Nice passes both properties, but can get very crowded.

Visited this very interesting villa this afternoon. I learned about the creation and history of the villa, as well as a great deal about life in ancient Greece, all delivered in a very cogent and palatable manner, through the audio guide. The villa's interior is beautiful, elegant, restrained, and authentic, while making allowances for the comforts of 20th century living. When we arrived we thought that the entry price of 11.5 euros was rather steep, but at the end we felt it was well worth it. A note to future visitors, the light and views from the villa are superb, so try not to arrive too late in the afternoon during the winter, before the light fades. If you take an audio guide (which is included in the entry price) you need to leave some photo ID at the desk.

Amazing place, totally unlike anything else around. A Greek Villa, designed throughout as original, with some imported 2nd century BCE Mosaics and superb furniture. The building is stunning and the situation, overlooking the sea, makes it a unique experience

This place is quite amazing. The thought and work that went into its construction is quite amazing. The included audio guides provided way too much information for us but we did enjoy some of the information. If you did not have the audio guides you would still enjoy this place because it was so amazing. We recommend a visit.

This beautiful ancient Greek style villa is only a short walk from the Carlton Hotel where we stayed so it became one of the places we visited often to truly admire the architecture, ceilings, furnishings and enjoy the gorgeous view. When in Beaulieu-sur-Mer, Villa Kerylos is a must visit.

Walked from the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild to Kerylos, quite a long walk in the middle of the day, arrived hot and thirsty. Sadly there was no welcoming cafe for a spot of lunch, just a drink machine. But there are buses from Nice that get you there easily. Well worth a visit. This is a reconstruction of a luxurious 2nd century Greek palace from Delos. The rooms flow around a central atrium, cool sea breezes waft through the open spaces and everywhere the style and sophistication of the owner, Theodore Reinach, is displayed. Gorgeous mosaic floors, delicate frescoes and Belle Epoque furnishings all housed in rooms that open onto the sparkling azure waters of the Mediterranean. Oh how the other half lived. Remember to bring water, but there are many cafes nearby in Beaulieu-sur-Mer.

This place was lovely. We enjoyed all aspects of it, the rooms, and outlook. In particular we enjoyed the beautiful mosaic floors and lovely ceilings (see photos). If you have time I would definitely make a bee-line for this place.WARNING: many people come here to also visit the House du Eiffel next door, which I have to say looked lovely. However, when we went in May 2014 the Eiffel house was closed for refurbishments, so if you plan on going here you must check beforehand. You pay 20euros for visiting 2 villas, this one and the Rothschild villa. If you have time go to both but if you can only choose one go to the Rothschild villa, as it was mega! See my report on this.

When in Beaulieu (between Monte-Carlo and Nice) don't miss to visit this unique villa, the "Villa Kerylos".Theodore Reinach a rich banker who was also an art lover, archaeologist, musicologist ...had this villa buit at the end of the XIX th century, completely in the style of ancient Greece. He spent his vacations there with his family and lived there as if it was ancient Greece. All the furniture is on the models of the ancient times. The view is breathtaking.Absolutely worth the visiting.

I admit to being a bit skeptical when my wife suggested visiting the Villa Grecque Kerylos in Beaulieu-sur-mer (she had been a few weeks earlier with friends and hadn't stopped raving about it since). I like Greece and things Greek in Greece, just as I do things French in France, so I was struggling to see how it could push my buttons, but I was in for a very pleasant surprise. In an absolutely beautiful setting on a promontory next to the small harbor in the bay of Beaulieu sur mer it is quite sight from the outside. The interior is beautiful with lots of interesting artifacts in enjoyable rooms. The audio guide was very good. Easily worth the money. We combined it with a visit to the Ephrussi de Rosthchild villa and gardens which you can buy on a joint ticket. A superb day out. We have since walked the coastal path around the cap from Beaulieu and suggest including some of that too.Probably not enough at the villa Grecque for very small children but certainly for older ones.Parking is not easy around Beaulieu so it is worth going early to get a spot and don't forget coins for the meter. If you are lucky you will find a space on the sea front.Do go and visit the Villa Greque Kerylos, it is a bit of a treat.

This superb vila with so many beautiful lifestyle representations of ancient Greece is one of the Must visit when you spend your vacation in Nice or on Cote d'Azur.Visit togeter with Villa Ephrussi for low cost ticket.

Marinatama

This is a beautiful villa in a greek style. This museum has an audioguide, that is very handy if you are traveling without excursion group. Also you are buying one ticket and visit 2 villas! there is a Promenade along sea coast from Kerylos to Rotschild villa.

Beautiful house set on the shore line with spectacular views over the bay on three sides. Inside the rooms, furniture and audio guide compliment to give a comprehensive "visit" to Ancient Greece. Ideal excursion for rainy days and too hot days.

Finally, a way to see a complete ancient Greek villa - not a ruin! Great interiors and views. No garden to speak of, though. Hint: buy a combined ticket and visit Villa Kerylos BEFORE Ephrussi de Rothschild. If you did it the other way, you could get disappointed, so go crescendo. Take the beautiful walk along the water and up the hill to Ephrussi.

Great start to a morning in St Jean, there is a deal to see both this villa and villa Rothschild (which is only a 15 minute walk) for 15 Euro for a student. The villa is stunning, as are its views. Audio guides are essential as they contain so much information but allow you to listen at your own pace. Very glad I did it, but probably wouldn't do it again.Tip: If you are a student, bring identification! Most of the tourist attractions have huge student discounts but are very strict on identification. No photo ID, no discount!
