We visited the Catedral on a sunny afternoon so there were a lot of people inside as well as in the plaza in front of it so it was nice and full of life. I also liked that it had it's reflection on the pavement in front.

This old cathedral is ugly and dreary and, in my opinion, a difficult place in which concentrate on one's prayers. Perhaps some individuals are inspired by such atmosphere...

The jesuit church, with the guided tour is more interesting. If you are not yet bored with spanish colonial religious stuff, you will be pleased.

Nice church in front of the main plaza, beautiful architecture and ambiance. Not to miss, and good place to catch mass.

An impressive architectural Cathedral. Wonderful interior. In the heart of the central shopping district. On a great piazza. Liked it better than the Cappuchino.

The Cathedral is very impressive but there was a tent set up right in front of it which made photographs difficult with a very limited perspective.Hopefully the tent was temporary as the Cathedral was very beautiful.

This church took 200 years to complete. If you are a Catholic this is a holy and spiritual place to come and pray and it it breath taking.

Not only is it an iconic religious building, but the structure stands as a true example of colonial architecture. When we started the tour, we see the many styles that have been established as a true gem of the country. The lower part is light classical inspiration, while the top is clearly marked by the Baroque style. The interior, decorated only in the twentieth century was the result of the work of the founder of the first art school in the country, Emilio Caraffa, and highlights the paintings of the main roof and the transepts. In the atrium the remains of two large Cordoba, Dean Gregorio Funes, the first rector of the university and the remains of General José María Paz Caudillo.

Right on the main square Plaza San Martin, this cathedral with a lavish interior has a particularly interesting facade, which "shines" at night - great for photos.

Beautiful church and so colourful inside. It's free and doesn't take long to visit. Guided tours leave hourly I think but not sure if they are in English.

The constuction started in 1580 and it was inaugurated in 1709. It is located in the city center and it is one of my favourite buildings in the city only two years ago there was a big campaing to re-paint it entirely. The result: magnificent! when you look at it you really see a piece of art!

Fantastic and very well preserved. Suggest take a guided visit in the office in Calle Obispo Trejo next to the church; it is so much more interesting

Beautiful on the outside and on the inside. In the square in front, don't miss the white stone that draws the basic outline of the Cathedral and the next door building on the ground, outlining the shape, doors and windows. Interesting!

Everything that can be carved is carved; any column that can plausibly be made twiddly has been made twiddly; everything that can be gilded is gilded; the inside of every dome is painted, every side-chapel has its polychrome wooden saint or Jesus - look for the good shepherd with his sheep.

The jesuits built this cathedral over a period of many years. It is located in a central square and there is an interesting outline in front in marble showing the outline of the building. The tour is do it yourself and all of the descriptions are in Spanish, but the partial restoration is well done and the memorials that are on both sides of the church to various saints are both interesting and uniques to South America. If you are in downtown Cordoba take a few minutes and step inside. Well worth a picture or two and 10 to 15 minutes of your vacation time. It also offers a quiet respite from the hustle and bustle of downtown Cordoba.
