What a delight. We arrived by boat from New York via the Chambly Canal. The canal has overnight mooring above the last three locks before entering the basin on our route to Montreal. Suggested by a local who's wife works there we gave it a try. Voila. What a treat. Nice view of the water with excellent service and a very adequate menu. I had a different crew on our return and treated them to a meal just as delightful. This time we ate on the lower patio. I recommend highly. Also just a short walk to the Fort Chambly. Love this village.

Went to this restaurant, group of ten. We arrived within 10 minutes of the booking time. the food is old Canadian style cooking, lots of wild game, duck and the like. This didn't appeal to everyone but there was chicken and salmon on the menu as well. everyone managed to find something to order that was within their food range. Unfortunately some of the orders got slightly mixed up (potatoes on the plate and sauce on the fish when specifically asked without), some of the food was not warm, some of the tea was lukewarm at best. overall despite the problems I enjoyed the food but granted its not for everyone. I had a great "pow wow" appetizer, which consisted of a mix of small portions of duck, bison, smoked salmon and local beans, bulrushes greens, wow, very nice. The main was a deer steak with side vegetables. All cooked as ordered. Someone ordered a well done steak but changed it to medium on the waitresses recommendation. Unfortunately it turned out to be too pink for her but the waitress was accommodating and sent it back to cook for a bit more. Many of us ordered the beer samplers, where you get 3 ounces of each of the 7-8 beers they produce. It was a great way to test out their product and enjoyed by many. the big gripe that everyone had was the service. The waitress was doing the best she could to accommodate us but it took two hours from the time we arrived to get the appetizers. This is not acceptable in my book. Ether the kitchen was understaffed or they're we're too many orders to fill all at once but this was a big let down to a restaurant that has so much else going for it.Of the group of ten, only four said they would come again. The others did not like the service, and some had just bad meals altogether -not what was ordered, cold fish, etc. really too bad as it is such a nice place with a great lively ambience. If they could deal to this issue, they would have a great restaurant but right now because of e service I would not return on a busy night, just too long to wait for a meal guys.

Our experience was good in general. The service was excellent, you really felt like everyone takes good care of you. The beer tasting was great! You get to try 6 different types of beer for $8 all made in Chambly by Unibroue brewery. The food was good but not great, I choose the beef tartare at it was extremely salty. I wouldn't suggest that dish there cause I'm sure you could have it somewhere else and it would be better. My girlfriend ordered a fish that came with rice and vegetables and she loved it. The appetizer and desser were good as well.

This was our second trip to Le Fourquet Fourchette in the last six months. Both times I had the seafood chowder, and both times, I was very happy with my selection. My dining companions had the roasted duck and grilled beef steak. Three of us had table d'hote - our soups, salads and desserts were excellent! We started the meal with a pitcher of Unibroue U Blonde biere - fabulous! Our server was pleasant, friendly and bilingual. All in all, a very pleasant evening, and we want to return in the summer when we can sit outside and look at Fort Chambly and la Riviere Richelieu.

We went on a Thursday afternoon before hitting Montreal. We arrived minutes after noon and were seated and served immediately. Although the waitress was not a proficient english speaker (and I speak very little French), she took the time to ensure we understood the menu (lunch menu not in English.) I ordered the white fish dish from the lunch menu; it was perfectly cooked, arrived while still warm and was sooooooo tasty. My brother got the pate dish - also sublime. We both got the soup - a squash vegetable soup that was perfectly seasoned - and the dessert. We accompanied our lunch with the beer flight. All of the beers were good but some standouts included the ephemere and the trois pistoles. The prices were reasonable ($ 54 canadian with two flights and several glasses of ale)Contrary to some other reviewers, I found the service excellent even though the restaurant became quite busy. The bathrooms were very clean. This restaurant is worth the drive, if not for the excellent food, then for the tasty ales!

We were disapointed, my wife and I and another couple went there on a Friday night. Food was served cold, portions are too small, bathrooms are disgusting, service sucks. We will never go there again, on top of all that it is very overpriced....

Maybe we were disappointed because we built this place up too much in our own minds. We expected a happy-go-lucky restaurant where they would be eager to show off their unibroue beers. Instead, we were fortunate to have been served one round without being offered a second chance to taste. The sample of six beers contained a very warm Blanche de Chambly and nothing that was exceptionally cold. We were never offered a chance to reorder beers or food so we left.
