Needs no intro. This is what comes to every person when you plan for Mysore. Its undoubtedly one of the most beautiful palaces in India. Must visit. Try and see the lighting which happens on only Sunday evenings.

Had a great time going round the palace. Would thoroughly recommend an audio tour, very informative and interesting. Would rate 5 star, however was saddened to see elephant rides being offered in the grounds. The elephants were obviously psychologically damaged by performing the same rides and tricks day after day, it was clear exploitation of these great creatures. Some of the tricks involved taking money from tourists, handing the cash to the rider and then patting the tourist on the head. Elephants don't perform these acts because they want to but through fear of the consequences. I difficult to imagine the kind of 'training' they would need to go through to do this. Witnessing this detracted from the entire experience and I would not recommend this attraction until the elephant issue is rectified.

While the palace was simply majestic, the way the people(employees) there keep begging for tips was simply disgusting. There were boards everywhere saying this service is free which mean govt already pays the employees. For example the place where you have to keep your shoes. While collecting the shoes noticed the guys openly asking for tips saying give something for your happiness. They can simply make this a paid service and get rid of this nonsense which puts other Indians also in a poor light.

A visual treat with so many camera angles to try inside the premises. However, inside the main palace building, photography is restricted. Inside the palace building, the old paintings still look very fresh and undamaged, pointing to the science of painting during those times. The insides of the building will let you immerse yourself in lots and lots of colours and you would love every bit of it. A must visit place in Mysore.

Was awestruck at the grandeur and expanse of the palace. The magnificence is apparent in all aspects - be it the rooms, the durbar or the courtyards. Once they lit it up at night, the beauty amplified even more.

Palace is amazing as the most of the reviews already stated. Here I would like to rate official guide, as I can recall his name was Babu. Seems like everyone in Mysore knows him. He for sure knows a lot, but he's so full of himself that he does not realize that he's English is not so perfect and his accent is just so strong that most of us had an issue understanding him. Be careful when contracting him...

The Mysore Palace just simply blew me away. From its history, to the King's importance to India and Britain, and the stunning amount of Gold and Silver lining its halls, this Palace had my heart racing. I loved this place, and we were two days out of missing the appointment of a new King of Mysore, when we were told this place would really be tricked out. Just amazing and a very strong recommend to my clients.

An amazing, beautiful and truly royal palace, a must visit for every tourist in Mysore! Me, my wife and my child loved our time at the palace, I would suggest you visit during the evening even though there is more crowd - its a better experience.

The interiors are rather bare of artefacts, so it is foremost an architectural tour, and lacks some of the charm of the Rajasthani palaces. The vast grounds could benefit from some more large trees like those at the Southern side.

Without seeing this no one can gather comprehensive idea about my beloved country India. Great place to see and feel.

The palace stands testimony to the lavish and taste that the royal families of India had.The palace is a marvel with gold coated walls, paintings that are 3-d, gifts from all over the world on coronation of the royal family.Though crowd is a lot, it's better to hire a guide so that you get a flavour of the history.
